Guessing the "Who" of the hire doesn't matter unless the NIL $$ at least quadruples. Do any of these guys as hires get that? If not, why would they come to be at a disadvantage?

I’ll go so far that he never sets foot in the state of Iowa again unless it’s to watch his girlfriend get some kind of award.

That family is done with Iowa for good. Can’t say I blame ‘em.

I kinda got that vibe from him... He like his folks just didn't endear themselves. It's a two way street that they thought was a one way street. It's funny to me cause they needed to look no further then either Lisa or KF and see how they did it. You do those things and you'll be able to withstand some pretty big bumps in the road. If Iowa had sold say 85% of their tickets this yr Fran very well may have been back next yr against many folks wishes. The fans are who fired him by staying home. So they can be mad at Beth or whatever but she just did what she had to I don't think it was all that tough for her to decide. I bet she'd made her decision a month ago.

Yet Fran was here 15 yrs still. Where else could he have done that with his level of production? Like Keith Murphy said I sure hope they don't take Barta off the Xmas card list cause most ADs wouldn't have extended him that last time. He's got 4.2 million reasons to be thanking him

Yeah that is the question any new coach is going to want answers to and I would have to think Beth has been pounding the pavement to find that out. I think she'd been asking around and was told that big $ donors and fans would come back if they hired the right coach. Hence making firing Fran easy to do. To what extent is anybodies guess. Only she and those in that circle would know. And even still how much we talking? Hard to say
