I'm hearing Chris Jans is a finalist, along with DeVries. McCollum is going to Indiana.
I'm still hoping for McCollum.

Thank you.Christopher Paul Jans is and American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach of the Mississippi State Bulldogs men's basketball team. Jans previously coached at New Mexico State, where he led the Aggies from 2017 to 2022. Jans is a graduate of Loras College, and hails from Fairbank, Iowa
I'm not so crazy about his coaching record... Consistently mediocre. Plus he got himself fired from Bowling Green after getting recorded acting stupid at a bar with women. It's vague whatever it was he did but they used the moral clause in his contract to fire him. I'm picturing Larry Eustachy kind of shit.Christopher Paul Jans is and American college basketball coach who is currently the head coach of the Mississippi State Bulldogs men's basketball team. Hard pass on Miles or either Pitino.I think Devries is pie in the sky pick, obviously he'd be my #1 choice but I don't see him leaving a place that has rabid fans, healthy NIL and firmly one of the better programs in his league to come and take on the mountain that is Iowa basketball
I think more likely names like McCollum, Jans, Tim Miles, Rick Pitino
IMO, Iowa is likely not going to get a top name for this job. I hope I am wrong and Beth has a plan.
I hope your wrong too. If we don't have the money to buy players then it is vital to get a coach in here that will attract talented players who will want to play for him.I think Devries is pie in the sky pick, obviously he'd be my #1 choice but I don't see him leaving a place that has rabid fans, healthy NIL and firmly one of the better programs in his league to come and take on the mountain that is Iowa basketball

In a few years, this may be a helluva choice, and there is the potential legacy (assuming he and Caitlyn tie the knot and have a dozen kids). However, that ship sailed with the dismissal of Fran I would imagine.Connor MCaffrey![]()
Ha! Only if he brings his girl friend in to be an assistant!Connor MCaffrey![]()
No love lostI’ll go ahead and predict that Connor never coaches at Iowa in any sort of fashion ever.

I wouldn't over complicate this if I'm Beth. Reach out to DeVries it's his if he wants it. If he doesn't then the search begins.
I’ll go so far that he never sets foot in the state of Iowa again unless it’s to watch his girlfriend get some kind of award.I’ll go ahead and predict that Connor never coaches at Iowa in any sort of fashion ever.
Look, dude is old as hell, and obviously has some bad history, but if the NIL money is there, he's our only chance of ever seeing a national championship in basketball or football.Hard pass on Miles or either Pitino.
I'd be really happy with the other three though.
