that video is eye-opening. but i would venture that 90% of tv personalities are divas and have huge egos. you get treated like a king and after awhile you become entitled.

I've worked in TV production -- and seems like every on-air crew has a diva like Berman. I saw shades of this during cutaways of draft coverage. The guy has become a primadonna. Yes, he put in his time and dues, but so have others. It's time for him to get an attitude adjustment.

shocking, people on this message board hating on someone?? That's the first time I've seen this. <end sarcasm>

I don't understand how you can hate Chris Berman, but that is your opinion to have.

Kind of my opinion. I don't have an opinion on Burman, since I don't watch ESPN. Sometimes I get bummed because I have to sit out the daily ESPN hate thread, but I do get the satisfaction knowing that I am the one guy sane enough to ignore something I hate.

Seriously, I watched roughly 90 seconds of NFL draft coverage the entire 900 hours it was on. Anyone who can tolerate more than that has a pain threshold Wolverine would be envious of.

My feelings as well. I don't ever let an announcer affect my mood. Or radio personalities for that matter. Some of you are wound too tight. :)

I guess I can understand not liking an announcer at an Iowa game to a point. Pam Ward isn't my favorite. But I definitely don't let her ruin the game for me. But we're talking about the NFL Draft here. There's no action going on anyway. Berman is an icon for the station. I don't have a problem with him covering the Draft. He didn't make it any better or worse.

He becomes a problem when he starts taking away the air time for the guys who actually know something about the players being drafted. That's the whole point of putting on the circus that is ESPN's draft coverage. I'd much rather get the guys who know what they're talking about.

I actually do like the guy, and I think he still does a good job with NFL Primetime --- which I often enjoy more than watching the actual games on Sunday. Disagree with the negative comment someone made about Tom Jackson, too. To me he seems to really know his stuff, and it's great how he talks about things from the defensive point of view. A true rarity at ESPN. I haven't seen any of the draft coverage this year, and I'll take other posters' word that it is awful. Maybe Boomer just sucks at the draft? Does he really watch much college football? That video is hilarious. Reminds me of...

And the worse on-air profanity meltdown that I've seen/heard was right here from DSM, Marty Tirrrel F-bomb's blasting of Cutler.

I understand your point. But the draft lasted a total of what? 8-10 hours or so? I think there was plenty of time for everyone to chime in. I don't think we missed anything important.

The NFL is 2nd to College Football.

However anyone that sits and watches the NFL Draft from start to finish or for that matter more the 50% of it I ask why?? What the heck for. Seriously. To hear a named called. lol

I will ask what did you gain from it?

I watched the 1st round and that was it. I will evaluate how my NFL Team did in this years draft 2 to 3 years from now.

Well I do like to hear about certain players, and at times he cuts them off from offering analysis on a guy that I might like to hear about (not necessarily an Iowa guy). And since I don't pay for ESPN Insider or anything like that, I'd like all the free analysis I can get.

Can't stand berman, Like Tom Jackson a lot. I also watch Primetime on NFL Sunday nights. Jackson is very knowledgeable. Berman is just annoying. And the video shows he is a richard, too.

Out of everyone on the NFL Draft panel the guy that demanded the most respect was Jon Gruden. I thought he was awsome.

I don't really pay attention to ESPN any more. I used to watch a lot of the programming, but I can't stand most of it now. I only watch sporting events that interest me, none of the other stuff.
