Chiefs’ Stanzi struggles as No. 2 QB vs. Rams - KansasCity.com
Here's the first article I have seen about Stanzi:
Three completions in four attempts for 24 yards. One interception. One lost fumble. Four sacks for minus-32 yards.
After four unproductive series, Stanzi gave way to Brady Quinn, who had played behind starter Matt Cassel a week ago against Arizona.
“It was tough sledding out there,†Stanzi said. “That’s part of the process sometimes. You have to fight through those things.â€
It didn’t start well. On the second play of the third quarter, Stanzi’s first pass was punched out of intended receiver Terrance Copper’s grasp by Rams rookie cornerback Trumaine Johnson and into the waiting arms of rookie defensive tackle Matthew Conrath, who returned it to the Chiefs 18.
“That was my fault,†Stanzi said. “I threw it into some tight coverage. It makes it tough for the receiver. I could have gone somewhere else with the ball on that one.â€
“I’ve to get rid of the ball,†Stanzi said. “You can’t put that kind of pressure on the offensive line to hold up for that amount of time. I’ve got to be able to get the ball out of my hands and move the chains.â€
