Cheese whiz the last two years

Well some blocking from the TE's on the Olb's is a good start. Taking out the nt lined up over the center is a good idea too. Double team with one releasing to take on another lb is always a good idea.
The other side of the ball, you can't allow them to just keep grinding out 3rd and short all day long. That's how they score as much as they do. Bend but don't break, but imagine that red zone line starts at about the 30-35 yard line. They are designed to grind people up. Take that away and the game gets much easier.

2 things in that article stand out to me.

1) Daniels talking about Wisky's defense
“It’s so hard to play against teams like that because teams in the Big Ten, you’ll find there’s multiple plays when one player is out of his gap and we gash them for a 40-, 50-yard run..."

No offense to JD, but he sure seems to think Iowa's ground game has been a lot more explosive than I remember. Multiple 40-50 yard plays against other teams?

2) this summary about the recent Wisconsin games
Iowa employed a decent first-down strategy in both 2016 and 2017. In 42 combined first-down plays, the Hawkeyes ran 23 times for 105 yards and completed 10 of 19 passes for 69 yards.

10 of 19 for 69 yards passing is nowhere near decent! That's 3.5 yards per attempt! Teeeeeerrible!

It said the strategy was decent, not the end result. In other words, there were 23 run plays and 19 pass plays....a nearly 50/50 mix, which goes against tendency....
