Check Out This Idiot

This guy thinks the Gophers (who are 0-3 in the conference) have a legitimate shot at winning the west.

He surmises and actually suggests some likelihood that...

—Wisconsin drops two more, including to MN

—Iowa loses 3 more because were “banged up”

—Northwestern loses 2 more, including to MN

—Purdue loses 2 more, including to MN

Keep in mind that all of these things would have to happen. I thought some of the wishful threads here were stupid, but this one is a special kind of special.

RIP James Honeyman-Scott and Pete Farndon. Scott's musical claim to fame is getting lost in Milwaukee trying to find his hotel-and discovering the Violent Femmes playing on a street corner. Basically REM-lite with Lou Reed singing, the Femmes were the quintessential '80's cult band.

I just saw a post on another board that it is still mathematically possible for every single team in the Big Ten to win its division, including Rutgers and Nebraska.

But... sorry it is no longer possible for a Rutgers-Nebraska Big Ten CCG. Each one could go to the CCG on their own, but not both.

Yeah OK.

It's a long shot Iowa could make the playoff that most if not all Hawk fans realize but it's insanely asinine to think Minnesota could win the B1G West. Big difference.

I'm sure there are other fan bases that think it's asinine that there are Hawkeye fans that believe they could win the Big Ten and be a playoff team. So I guess it comes down to your perspective.

I don't see much difference at all. The goofer fan came up with a scenario where they could win the West, much like there are Hawkeye fans on here creating scenarios where Iowa could be a playoff team.

except for w/ Iowa it's actually possible because the team has shown to at least have a pulse and hasn't started conference play 0-3, but other than that comparable.

I have a better chance of becoming a billionaire tonight than the Gophers have of winning the West.

This is quite the lift, if this were to happen. He failed to put that Minnesota would have to win out. Hell, they aren't even gunna get by Nebraska this weekend.

While I firmly believe there isn't a snowball's chance in hell the Hawkeyes win the Big Ten, the list of shit that would have to happen for that to come true is a whole lot shorter and more likely than Minnesota winning the west.

I'm not sure if that is anymore insane than the suggestions I'm seeing on here that Iowa could be a playoff team.
According to people here you're talking about, all it would take is Iowa to win out, Wisconsin to lose one more, and beat OSU (which won't happen, btw).

You're going to really sit there and tell us that the laundry list of miracles Minnesota needs is somehow comparable?

Are you a jilted Tracy Claeys fan or something?

This guy probably thought well hey if Frosty says they can win the west then there's got to be a chance for us. Delirium has taken over in the west.

Minny's last 3 games are Purdue,jNW and Wisky and they are not winning all three of those games, they could probably win 1, maybe two , but the odds catch up with them on the bounce of the ball, bad ref calls, them being up and opponents playing bad that they win all 3.

The same with Iowa as any remaining game could be the one where the hawks dont make all the plays, get all the bounces, get the refs seeing the opponents penalties, etc

The Iowa scenario is a stretch but at least we're only dependent on Wisconsin losing one more game. The rest is up to Iowa handling their own business

The minnesota scenario relies on 4 other teams falling on their faces, which just wont happen....however it would be awesome if minnesota beat Wisconsin

I'm sure there are but ESPN just listed Iowa as a one-loss team with a chance to make the playoff, albeit at 2%. I think that's where most of the Iowa fan base is on that.

I have about as much chance of winning the Mega Millions jackpot tonight as Minnesota has of winning the West.
