Charred duck thread funner (more fun)

Harding needs to stop driving to the hoop with no outlet.
A trademark of Fran guards who can drive. Those who can't have not shown it but from Toussaint to even one of his sons have all ended up with that habit. If he had more quick athletic guards we would have seen it more but it has been a pet peeve of mine for years.

So what was with the title of the thread? With our injuries and issues no way you can lose to them? Maybe stick to the funner mocking titles. Maybe The Who's Ready for My Famous Charred Duck Game Thread?

What's frustrating about that is NOBODY CUTS with him. Everyone else stands out at the 3 pt line just hoping their defender leaves em. When a ball handler drives you need someone to cut hard. With or without a backscreen. But 4 other dudes standing around with their dicks in their hands while Harding is driving amongst the trees will never work.

Thelwell musta not been himself. Only got 5 pts and 3 assists out of the pg position tonight combined with Harding. That'll never be enough especially in an up and down offense like Frans.

Who all had that a Sandfort technical woulda been a difference making play? Not me that's for sure. Anyone hear what it was he said? I saw the replay where the OR kid heard him and was advocating for it in the moment. Was he trash talking the Oregon kid or was he complaining for a foul to the ref? I'm not sure it's clear what he did.

Yeah. Biggest hint of a problem is when Thellwell limped off in severe pain. Typical of him, he begged to be allowed to play.

As to Payton’s T. He trash talked. The Oregon player made the call, then the ref backed him. Payton admitted the trash talk. Fran confirmed in post game with Bobby H.

I typically listen to Bobby Hanson’s interview with Fran post game on AM 800.
Last night, for the 4th time, Fran announced that Payton and Josh were consistently “disrespected” by the officials. (No. He did not say “officials”.)

However, Fran was clear that “our two best players” were being grabbed, pushed, and man handled by our opponents. In essence it was the scouting report for other teams.
My read is that both of them have suffered purposeful injuries. Yes. I have some inside on that conclusion. Fran made a point of applauding them for “playing through it.”

On several occasions, I have zeroed in on P. Or J. for extended periods, watching how they are guarded. Even my Hawkeye glasses aside, it is disgusting. This is precisely what Fran is referencing.

Maybe the “Fran has checked out, hands in his pockets, not present in the huddles” crowd has a point. It is called total frustration, maybe?

I am convinced that if you are not in CHA to personally watch the game and observe these actions, your conclusions are suspect. You ain’t gonna see them on TV. On Saturday, I will watch it all over again, I’ll bet…

Yeah, last night Peyton had every right to explode. I watched him exclusively a couple offensive possessions, and one time he was just standing still on the wing of the lane -- not setting a screen or anything -- and a guy just came up and literally body checked him HARD -- the guy didn't extend his arms so it wasn't super obvious, but it was VERY obvious and Peyton just looks around and raises his arms like "3 officials and NONE of you saw that??"
On his tech foul, after he let that 3pter go and it went in, the defender kept holding his hand in front of Peyton's face after the shot had gone in and while Peyton was backing up to head back down to the other end. I think that put him over the edge...and he let the guy have it.
Since when is trash talk a tech foul? I thought trash talking goes by every team on every night, from guys on the bench to opposing players, etc.

Thank you! The detail on the T I did not know about.
