Charlie Jones drafted in 4th round by Bengals

Sometimes the recruiting tendencies don't make sense, so there's always hope.

For years, Georgia Tech ran a run-heavy offense but somehow continually recruited great at WR. with guys like Calvin Johnson and Demaryius Thomas, amongst others, but their running back recruiting was only so-so. Go figure.

CJ landed in a good spot. The Bengals receivers as a group are top 3 in the NFL, so CJ will likely see playing time as a punt returner and the 4th receiver. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he caught 25-30 passes next year being the 4th receiver working from the slot.

When they eventually intro his face as a starter and list his school, wonder which school he'll advertise? ;)

You're barking up the wrong tree, friendo.

This offense would be fine if we had an OL to block and a quarterback who doesn't shit his pants when the chips are down like we've had the past 6 years in Nate and Spence. That's what they've gambled on for McNamara and we have to just wait and see if he's the next Drew Tate or CJ Beathard, or a rerun of the Indiana and Rutgers killers we've had since then.

I'll say it again for the millionth time...this team is based on defense. Has been forever. All the offense has to do here to win lots of ballgames is not get in the way of the D.

Brian Ferentz is like a driver at the front of a stock car pack who drops a Skittle on the floorboard, tries to pick it up at 200 mph, spins out and takes every single other car out in a heap of sheet metal and tubing.

All Brian needs to do is keep the goddamn car going straight and pull over to let Phil pass him at the earliest opportunity.

One advantage is we now have three skill position players who were coached up by our QB coach but by quality offensive coaches from blue blood schools.

Wouldn’t hurt for Cade to meet up with his offense and draw up some plays of his own outside of the Iowa playbook.

Announcer; “What a.beautiful play call by the offensive coordinator on the down” Meanwhile Brian is on the sideline wondering WTF was that???
