Charles Rogers was at the Iowa game Saturday

Jake Knott is a big one

ISU lucked into him. A Waukee guy got in Rhodes ear, and they went to watch him run track. From what I've heard also is that Knott put on Lbs after the football season. All I know is that during the season I would have never guessed that he was a D1 player.

This is what Rhoads said. First of all, he has no clue why Iowa hasnt offered, its mind boggling to him. He said hes recruited at Pitt, Auburn, etc..........and Charlie would have been a kid they would have been after at those places. He also said that many schools outside the state of Iowa really look at if Iowa has offered or not. If they havent, they just assume something isnt right and move on. There have been a number of schools tip toeing around this thing, but for whatever reason just wont pull the trigger and I think a lot of it has to do with the Hawks not offering and if Iowa does offer they assume he will be a Hawkeye anyway so its really not worth the time.

Can you link this? I think talking about recruits to the media is a recruiting violation, so I would be shocked if Rhoads is on the record about this. Is this what Rogers said that Rhoads said?

You're kind of dumb, aren't you?

Just trying to help you out. Folks who use the phrase "Mute point" instead of the actual phrase, "Moot point" tend to get made fun of behind their back. Kind of like people who use the word "irregardless" when just "regardless" would do, or folks who say "supposubly" when the correct word is "supposedly". I wouldn't want some Cyclone fan to have a free shot at you when you claim that someone is attempting to make a point with no sound, when what you are really trying to say that the issue is dead, there is no point in ongoing discussions.

Best of luck.

(And no, I am not dumb.)

How is that any different than any recruit for any school? Someone let's the coaching staff know that they should check out a player and the coach does. Than it's up to the coach to decide if they should offer. Ferentz and Chizik didn't. Rhoads did. I don't know if I would say he "lucked" into him

Jesus Christ, what is people's obsession with Lenz all about?

He would never see the field on this Iowa team.

He would never see the field on an Iowa team that he just beat? Lenz would most definitely see the field. Either on offense or at safety where Rhoads said today in his PC that Lenz could play right now at ISU.

You are so stupid that you don't realize when it's done intentionally, in order to make a humorous point.

Trying to explain this to you is like conversing with a mildly retarded 3rd grader.

Wow, that's a pretty stupid argument.

"He" just beat Iowa, like by himself? Your argument now is that since ISU beat Iowa by 3 points in triple OT, that every single player that played for ISU is therefore better than his Iowa counterpart?

Lenz' receiving numbers for the season are worse than those for Iowa's #3 receiver, Martin-Manly.

He would clearly not be returning punts ahead of Hyde, or kickoffs ahead of Bernstine or Davis.

Iowa has pretty good depth at safety and he would clearly be about 3rd string at best, there.

He would probably see time on the kickoff coverage team, at least.

Maybe.

It was luck, or timing, or whatever you want to call it. Rhodes needed players so he took a look at a kid who would have never been recruited if it wasn't for those circumstances. It was a matter of good timing that ISU got a new coach, who needed players and had a spot open to take a chance on the kid. I say good for Rhodes, and good for Knott, and if you want to think that Rhodes is a genius and unearthed a diamond in Knott, go right ahead. I am from Waukee and root for Knott, and am glad he got the chance he did. I'm just telling you what went down.....

Hey TylerSash, the real Tyler Sash just called and said tell that arrogant pr**k to quit using my name...

if you don't mind, we'll stick with Davis, MM, and McNutt. Enjoy your infrequent upset, and your utility player. We'll see you next year.

What humorous point were you trying to make by using "mute" instead of "moot"?

Because it's funny to non-retarded people, which obviously excludes yourself.

It is a common mistake that someone stupid, like yourself, might make, but when done in an obviously sarcastic tone, by an intelligent person (such as myself) it becomes humorous.

Such things are a very common occurrence on the Internet. Once you graduate from middle school, you will discover this.

Now back to recess for you.

You strike me as the type that pulls the covers over his head when he farts in bed. There is no way in hell you slipped "mute" in there on purpose to be funny. Fess up and admit you got busted!

PS- the term "retarded" is outdated and offensive to many families in this country. You should quit while you are behind.

I just re-read this post...it has a smarminess about it that is dangerously near Coker-thread level that takes a couple good re-readings to really appreciate.

Well done, sir, well done!
