Changes to Iowa's assistant coaching coming?

Does anyone know whether O'Keefe will be back in IC, possibly as early as next week? I hate Davis less right now than I used to and I wouldn't yank him at the moment, but if O'Keefe is free I would hope KF fires someone from the staff and gets O'Keefe back on our sideline ASAP. Tannehill made Miami's receivers look awful and to be honest, was about as bad as Rudock when it came to finding the two wide open guys on every pass play. I'd also like to get Philbin back in here in some capacity, but maybe wait until the offseason for that one. Let him cool off a little bit.

We really need O'Keefe to help call the Indiana game.

This is really kind of a silly post and I would call it a dumb one but don't want to hurt your feelings. Are you just posting to post or do you REALLY think KF would fire someone in the middle of the season if it weren't for legal reasons? He never fired Kazinsky (sp) so what makes you think he would do what you are asking?

How's that hook feel tugging in your mouth? Don't let the sinker hit you in the head!

Agree

Can you imagine the staff turmoil when they see this thread.

Hey genius, that is why ended the title of the post with a question mark. I am trying to elicit information from folks on the ground in Iowa City to see if there are rumblings. Man, I wish this were CycloneFanatic where they have a high powered Realtor (TM) who knows when people are coming to and leaving from Ames days before news hits the wire services.

Look, dude, there is no "legal reason" we couldn't fire someone during the season, we just may have to pay out the remainder on their contract. It's just a contract issue which can easily be overcome. But this is a different scenario than others because it is not everyday that you have a good opportunity to bring a coach with experience as an O-Coordinator with TWO Big Ten titles to his name and an Orange Bowl victory. If we put up another couple of 10 point performances and the defense isn't gifted a bunch of turnovers, including one at the goal line, I think it would be reasonable to ask why Ferentz chose not to take advantage of this opportunity.

Do you think we could find enough money to buy out ken o'keefe's and gerp Davis's contracts?

Btw, ok4p, you are a genius.

So we want to bring back this guy?

Let's get MAD again on clock management. But, he did have a scheme to throw down field.

If serious, this could be the candidate for the dumbest post for 2015! Of course, I have contributed to some of the other candidates, so can't throw too many bricks...

Is it GD? Was it KoK? Is it, and was it Kfer? Or was a lot of it players not executing? Look, we still don't have a deep threat. TS is out until at least Maryland. Although VandeBerg catches everything thrown his way, even in heavy traffic. That guy is just fantastic this season.

It's not like Kfer told the team last year to punt to Nebby's stud. The guy didn't forget how to coach for whatever his other flaws might, or might not be.

Having said this, when Wiscy wasn't even faking blitz, KoK would have probably thrown to TE's in the middle last Saturday. Wiscy did it to us when they found tough going. We figured it out against Pitt.

It was never KoK, and it isn't GD. Or Kfer. Iowa's offense has always been, and likely will always be heavily based on three linebackers. This year the pieces have shifted slightly. A QB who might, or might not have been ready last season that is a playmaker. A shutdown cornerback, and linebackers that are above average so far. Offensive tackles that weren't as bad as most had feared, and hopefully are getting better in a hurry.

I maintain our offense is a good defense. With what we recruit and develop, no offensive coordinator would make a significant difference this season. Or probably any other recent season I can think of.

Look, if we don't act fast and get him now before the Dolphin dust settles, someone else will and we'll be left further behind in the arms race for offensive supremecy. If you can't see this, than you are either a GDGD gerp apologist, or not a true Hawkeye fan. Act fast Iowa!
