Changes to Iowa's assistant coaching coming?

Does anyone know whether O'Keefe will be back in IC, possibly as early as next week? I hate Davis less right now than I used to and I wouldn't yank him at the moment, but if O'Keefe is free I would hope KF fires someone from the staff and gets O'Keefe back on our sideline ASAP. Tannehill made Miami's receivers look awful and to be honest, was about as bad as Rudock when it came to finding the two wide open guys on every pass play. I'd also like to get Philbin back in here in some capacity, but maybe wait until the offseason for that one. Let him cool off a little bit.

We really need O'Keefe to help call the Indiana game.

I'm not really sure how you fire someone from your staff when your team is 5-0.

You look at the entire time he's been with Iowa, not just 5 games.

But, you're correct. He's not going anywhere for now.

I'd take ken o'keefe back in a heartbeat though and promise to be much nicer than his first go around.

Right I just meant mid-season coaching changes.

I doubt O'Keefe or Philbin end up anywhere until after the season. Was O'Keefe even fired from Miami? He might be an interim until next year anyway

First of all, OK4P is a troll, but we love that.

KOK is with the Dolphins until the end of the season.

Philbin could be brought in to consult on the offensive line. He did create the 2002 line that is widely regarded as the best ever at Iowa, and he was pretty awesome at Green Bay. Every bit of information helps.

KOK is moving up in seniority in Miami with Philbin gone, if they can a couple more interim coaches as the year goes on he may get his shot at the head job down there!

Wisconsin fired their o-line coach mid-season not long ago. It is not unprecedented and it could give us a jump on injecting some new blood into the program. Look, I'm glad we beat Wisconsin and all, but that offensive production was not exactly a promising way to kick off conference play. I mean, would it really hurt us to bring O'Keefe in as a grad assistant with a promise he'll have a job next year? Furthermore, it is my understanding that Davis likes to be up in the box, but O'Keefe always preferred to be on the sidelines - so imagine that 1-2 punch. I'm just saying that one of these days, Davis is very likely to make us all very angry and I think we should pull in an elder statesman to keep in our back pocket.

With the instability in the NFL, I don't know why he would want that. Can you imagine our current WRs if O'Keefe brought his NFL knowledge to IC? OMG.

Wtf, I will play along. I am sure GD would love that. I am guessing you have the coaches' son itching to take over play calling duties and you bring back the coaches' bud and longtime former OC for sh!ts and giggles. Man, that sounds like a good time.

how about co-co-co-co Offensive coordinators. Davis-B.Ferentz-Philbin-KOK

Actually If Philbin wants to go back to college, he could probably have his pick of head coaching jobs. Illinois, maybe?

You got an OC, a run game coordinator, a pass game coordinator, maybe find another guy to be a play action pass on second down coordinator, get a real offensive brain trust going, I'm sold

Did you intend to post this thread on the Swimming and Diving forum? Have we ever had a coaching change mid-year for football?
