I dont think there is going to be any live feed coverage, unless someone is there from a paper or site blogging about it. We posted and tweeted the event this morning.

Having been a student there when Iowa was 18-0 and still seeing the campus apathetic about the basketball team, I don't expect a huge turn-out when our program is in a nuclear winter. Hope lots of people showed up, but kind of doubt it.

And let me also add that I got a chance to sit pretty much right in the middle of a lot of the students tonight. They had few kind words to say about Barta. Wow. Some very unhappy students.

I asked a couple of them what the deal was but they didn't seem to want to say much about it. They did mention how they had tried to get the student section moved on multiple occasions only to have their pleas fall on deaf ears. I found it amusing that the largest ovation tonight probably came when the first question was asked about why Duke, Illinois, and Carolina can move their students around the court, but we can't seem to get it done.

The place erupted and Barta looked kind of squirmish. I did like Fran's response though. Something along the lines that this was still his honeymoon in some respects but he'd be sure to look into it. The students seemed to appreciate that.

The energy was good. I was hoping for a better turnout. But considering how far Iowa basketball has fallen, it could have been worse.

Like I said, the students dominated the attendance for the most part. Fran gave pretty much the same opening speech as he did in the PC today, only a bit more condensed. Then he spent the rest of the time answering questions from the crowd. I had my hand raised and wanted to bring up the floor color, but I never got called on(I had another question as well....wasn't going to waste an opportunity like that for a superficial question like that).

There was a good Q & A with some of the longer season ticket holders that were there. They pretty much expressed their concerns with what has happened to Iowa basketball and how to get it corrected and get people back into the seats. Then there were the questions that were asked that just made you shake your head.

They handed out t-shirts that said FRANS OUR MAN on it. I grabbed one even though they only had smalls left by the time the students had all received theirs. I was still hoping for IOWA BASKETBALL...IT'S FRAN-TASTIC!!
