Justin VanLaere
2nd in the league.
Not bad at all!

NCAA Leaders - Big Ten Assists Per Game - Basketball - NBC Sports
This has him 4th in APG and 6th for total assists. Also, 7th in total turnovers.
And near the bottom of the league in assist to turnover ratio. Cartwright was far from the player he was a year ago.
Near the bottom?
He was 11th in the league in A:TO.
1.5 ratio.
That's better than Draymond Green, who will be the Big Ten player of the year
Green's not a PG. Not a good comparison
That's great that Bryce has assists but I've argued with everyone on this board since last year, despite his assists, he kills us out there and isn't a Big 10 quality guard. For us to turn the corner we need better PG and thankfully that appears to be coming. I'm excited!
Actually, it's a great comparison. Green was 2nd on his team in assists (and had the 8th most in the B1G). He's basically a point forward. Almost every single possession goes through him. He touches the ball just as much as the PG in their set.
So for Cartwright to have a better A:TO than him is good.

Go look at other forwards in the country that have high assists. They all have high turnovers as well. It's not a great comparison.
Like who?
Maybe Royce White?
He is a turnover machine, yet his A:TO ratio is 1.3
another example to all that assists don't show the quality of player
Thank you for making my point. Can't compare forwards to PG's when it relates to assists/turnovers.
It's like comparing their FG%. Of course a PF will have a higher FG%.
I mean look at all the Big 10 A:TO ratios. The first 12 all play PG for their team. There is a reason for that spank. And Bryce ranks 11th out of 12 on that list and you still think that's good

11th out of 14 qualifying players is near the bottom since you need to avg a minimum of 3 assists/game to qualify to be ranked.
So if you wanted to look at it with a pessimistic view point only 3 players in the Big Ten has a worse A:TO ratio
point forwardAnd one of those bottom three is a power forward.
