Carter Starocci Alleged Misconduct

This is another bad look for the Penn St athletic department if true. The football team should have been penalized and I'm sure the wrestling program will slip on through too. Iowa and Iowa St got hammered harder for the "gambling incident"

Problem for their wrestling program is that Carl is the sole de facto owner/operator. If they boot him out there isn't an army of staff and administration in line to take up the slack. It isn't like football. Not saying Carl's going to jail, but if he witnessed/knew about stuff, he's gonna get the boot. PSU as a university can't afford another Paterno debacle in the media.

It will be quite interesting to see how PSU handles this. I agree with Fry, the administration is not going to want any further tarnishing of the program and will likely bring down the hammer. As far as Sanderson, you can bet though that every effort will be made to distance him from the inappropriate sexual allegations but not the theft reporting.

If he gets connected to the lack of response to just the theft issue, my guess is he will receive consequences but keep his job. Any connection to knowledge of the sexual behaviors and he is toast.

"Paterno debacle"? Many talking heads were predicting the sanctions against PSU at that time would set back their football program for a decade. Any clear-headed view knew that was not the case, and as I predicted their program suffered barely a bump in the road. Most recruits today wouldn't even know what the term "Paterno debacle" refers to, especially in the age of NIL and pay-for-play salary/contract negotiations.
Sanderson ain't going anywhere.

The debacle was PSU defending him and then having to walk everything back, fire him, and remove any references to him. If this thing goes on to find out Carl knew about hazing, he's not gonna get defended by PSU. If it turns out he was only a dickhead who covered for Starocci in the theft thing, he'll make it through that.
