Canzeri?

What leads you to believe that Canzeri is an underutilized gem that Iowa's coaching staff, who sees him in action every day, has failed to utilize? What evidence do you have that makes you think he should be playing more?
Our fullback as tailback. Hey look, Iowa looks for certain types of running backs. Canazeri is not one of them. Will be wasted on Iowa's offense. Maybe someone will convince him to switch to receiver (where he'll get about as many touches as he's getting now).

Its his thing. He knows more than any coach iowa has ever had. Just ask him.

And there goes the explosiveness of Iowa's offense. Particularly distressing since Iowa needs to score lots of points because of their D.

First of all, Weisman keeps that D off the field. Second of all, where is the evidence of this alleged explosiveness? Season stats indicate that Canzeri is averaging fewer yards per carry than Weisman, and has a long of 16 yards compared to Weisman's long of 37.

Again, I'd love to see Canzeri play and do well, but since he's not playing, I'm going to have to assume that those who get paid to coach him feel better about the backs that are currently playing.

With Wiseman as starter, there goes the explosiveness of Iowa's offense which Iowa sorely needs. Not to mention the game manager ability of Iowa's QB which so many of you love.

Might as well put in an L for Iowa. Iowa's defense is bad.

If Wisconsin could have made Canzeri a star, why didn't they recruit him out of high school? Why did Iowa have to steal him from Villanova and UConn?

Because he is a decent football player, not a star.

In 55 career carries, he has a long of 16.

In 295 career carries, Mark Weisman has 11 carries of over 20 yards.

I know which one has actually shown explosiveness on the field.

Weisman has been more explosive than Canzeri on the field for Iowa 'cause Weisman gets playing time and Canzeri doesn't. Duh. That explosiveness is a direct result of Ferentz's decisions to play Weisman and not Canzeri. Not a direct result of who is more explosive and athletic.

This has become a hijack about the positive qualities of Weisman.. See ya.
Wiseman's explosiveness (as you would say) doesn't help Iowa. Not enough points for Iowa. Iowa's defense gives up too many points.

Lots of people switch positions in this program. Most of us are just saying he is fast and does not shy from contact. You should be able to come up with something.

So unlike you to hijack a thread.

So you hang around when a thread gets hijacked, or, in your case, someone has to get in the last word?

You have zero evidence of Canzeri's explosiveness or home run capability or game change aspect or whatever else you want to call it.

Your arguement is simply Canzeri should be playing, but he's not, cuz da coach doesn't like him and wants to lose.

K thx.

There is zero evidence of Canzeri's big play ability.
He is behind Bullock and from what I can tell Bullock is better and continues to improve.

But he had a bunch of long runs in high school in a state with poor high school football.
