Cant we all just get along?

So in this vein, were you wishing something bad to happen to Todd Lickliter??????

What does it matter what I wanted to happen to Lick? To be honest I don't really care if OOTH wants him to lose his job, and I don't think he is a hater. I just point out that if you say this: You can call me a KF hater if you want. I dont want anything bad to happen to the man. Then say you want the man fired.....well that is kind of hypocritical, as it is wishing something bad to happen to him.

1) You say that some of us who are critical of ferentz cry when you call us haters. If you call that crying, ok. I'll never let you say that about me without refute. I don't want feretnz as coach, but I do not wish any harm at all on him.

And I have amended my stance on labeling someone, even me, if it's a correct and descriptive term of that individual. Now, calling anyone a profane name is never ok, of course, but calling someone a koolaid drinker may or may not be ok. Calling me a ferentz skeptic is fine, for example. By the way, calling someone a koolaid drinker is much different than calling someone a hater. That's like comparing apples to rhinos.

2. Wanting someone to be fired because they are not doing their job effectively is good. It's good for the situation and it's good for them if they are failing as it frees them up to be employed where they can succeed. I do realize it's up for debate if ferentz is effectively doing his job or not.

One last thing. I don't want ferentz to be coach, but I know that the pro ferentz folks can make a convincing argument that he should not be fired as his past record as a whole is good. And, no I am not calling for him to fired at this point in the season. If the teams sucks midway through the season, maybe.

I'm not sure why you are jumping on me. I don't think hoping that KF losses his job is some terrible thing. Just don't say things like you don't wish any harm on someone, but then say you want him to lose his job....that is wishing harm on them. Especially when it is questionable at best if he should be fired to begin with, proven by the fact that critics such as you aren't even calling for his head......yet that is. ;)

Wishing for a man to lose his job, is wishing for something bad to happen to that man.

Just saying

Yeah I think he would be okay. This is kinda like me saying I hope that guy stops winning 4 mil a year every year. You knows what be saying...dawg.

That is not true. I am not wishing harm on anyone if I hope they get fired when they are not meeting the requirements of the job. See my previous post for an explanation on this. Plus I am all for a decent severance agreement. The guy will not be harmed if he gets fired, not financially at least. Come on man, you already know this.

Different story if you are talking about some guy making 60k per year and barely scraping by, but he still has to meet the reqs. of the job or he's gotta go. I've seen this happen a lot and it totally sucks. It's happened to me several times before even after I increased market share for the company.

And I was not jumping on you.

Freed, I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about OOTH who said what he said. Not sure why you even responded to my post.

How does it harm him he would get paid and not have to work?

You think KF only coaches for the money? I would bet he loves what he does, and you are wishing that he loses what he loves.

As I keep saying, and nobody will listen, is I don't think you are a hater if you want him out as coach. I don't think most of the "haters" are haters at all. Just don't be a hypocrite and say you don't wish him ill, or harm, or whatever, but hope he losses his job, as I'm sure he enjoys what he does.

Okay I get what you mean. The way I meant it was I wouldnt punch him if I had the chance, or I dont wish him bad health. Seems during pressers that he does not like what he does. I think he likes what he does when he can run his offense and nobody saids booo about it. I actually get the feeling that he would like to hang it up but not until be sets up BF.

I like what I do for a living but if somebody said hey pal youre done but we are going to pay you for the next five years, Id be one happy happy happy dude.

You wouldn't punch him in the face, or wish cancer on him......you are such a softy OOTH.

Same here, but I think 99% of coaches are wired differently. I mean most of them when they get fired get paid, yet they want to climb right back on that 17 hours of work a day horse, and do it all over again.

Because I want ferentz gone as well, but that doesn't mean I'm wishing him harm.

You could make a good argument if a poor guy who barely gets by, and i was hoping he'd get fired, that I'm wishing him harm. Two different stories. But to be consistent in my argument, both would have to go if they are not performing up to snuff.

I could name a handful of coaches right off the top of my head who don't act like they enjoy what they're doing while they are at a press conference. Ferentz is a football coach not a Public Relations Specialist. Is it part of the job? Of course it is and he knows that. That doesn't mean he has to be giddy about getting in front of a microphone and answering people's questions.

Now if you were at practice and saw the way he interacted with his players, and then came to the conclusion that you don't think he likes what he does then that would be a different story. Saying he doesn't seem like he enjoys what he's doing because of his attitude at press conferences is a pretty weak argument. Specially after these last couple seasons. I'm pretty sure no one would enjoy being in that position.

If you call them haters that is offensive/abusive and they cry....yet they can label others groupies, kool aid drinkers, and that is fine.

I think it's fact there are some posters on this board who aren't concerned, solely, with the success of Iowa football, which could be detrimental (if the coaching staff reacted, and I know they do) to the success of Iowa sports.
Case(s) in point would be the replacement of KOK, and showing preseason offense that doesn't give the defense time to substitute.

Facts aren't allowed anymore?

EDIT: I want Iowa football to be successful, but I'm not sure what some of you other guys want.

The Bob Sanders who played safety at Iowa was never Robert Sanders. His first name is Demond.

Is it that hard GomerChampderp?

What did the Iowa sportscaster call Sanders at Iowa? Demond? Hum?

Im concerned about the program winning, but I also am concerned about having a clean, classy program where kids graduate and having a FB progam that can support the rest of the A.D. There are not a ton of those out there

I havent been in the P/C forum since October so I have no idea what you are talking about.

Im certain there wasnt a single sportscaster that called him Robert Sanders.

Once again, is it that hard?
