Cant we all just get along?

People have the right to be negative. We had a terrible year. But disrespectful is another issue. If one cant make a argument without calling names they dont have much to base their argument on

There is no 'right to be negative' That said we allow differing views here. But when the same folks are making the same digs over and over, that's what I don't want to see

After reading the thread title I feel like rioting through the offices of HN (which I think is Jon’s house).

Anyone up for a good ol' fashion riot?

IDK, all I know is the players and coaches have seemed to come together and focus, along with putting in hard work. It is showing. I also do not know, but it seems like the RB position is fairly healthy and that is not something we could say for a very long time. IDK but we had a real spring game. When I add it all up, I like what I am seeing. I don't know the who/how or why of it, I just know there are some good signs. Is it the O? Maybe the D? The special teams? The new coaches? The old coaches? Is it just KF? I think it is all of them, that is why it is called a team sport.

I reserve my right to be negative if desired

Same here. I have my reasons why I am unhappy with what's going on with the football program, and I will cite those reasons any time a discussion comes up about the shortcomings of the coaching staff (which are pretty frequent). If it is deemed to be "repetitive negative posting" simply because I have said the same things in past threads, then so be it. I am not going to pretend to be happy with the current state of affairs with the football program just to avoid banning. But I do try not to go over the top with it, and I always try to keep it respectful when I disagree with others, and I don't lynch a thread started to discuss some other topics, and totally derail it, as I've seen done by others.

I guess I figure that's about all I can do, short of not speaking my mind at all.

I thought about starting a thread with a poll and if more people disliked me on here with my view then I would leave. For the record I dont want anyone here to leave but there are coments that I choose not to respond. There are also people who I go back an forth with a lot that I like on here.

Seems the football board has become everything that was the reason the politics board went away.

I think that many of the people here, regardless of either side of the KF argument consider themselves "passionate" about Iowa football. But I think many of those people don't realize that there is a huge difference between being passionate about their school/team/alma mater and just plain being an idiot or a jerk. Both sides can be passionate, but everyone should act like an adult. I don't think most people on this site who resort to the name calling would do that in real life. If they would, well, then good luck succeeding in life.

What if people make dumb analogies? Will they succeed in real life?

what if they're not really adults? this could just be asking too much.

/ I kid.

I take the haters lightly. A lot of these same people called for Kok to leave. Then when he left they quickly jumped on the hate GD bandwagon. They are delusional enough to think that a head coaching change will make things suddenly better.

If Iowa goes 0-12 this year I will still be a fan. Albeit a disgruntled one. It's our team, win or lose. Having said that, like a lot of people I don't see that we are getting top results for the top pay we are paying for this sport. On the other hand, I see a coach and a team doing everything they can to get ready for the season. The coaching staff is out making themselves available on local talk shows, public meetings, more open practices. These guys know they need to do better and they are trying.
