Can we finally end the Orange Bowl watershed BS talk?

Correct, the orange bowl isn't what it used to be as of late, but not are many of the bowls. Certainly a jan 1 bowl is not what it used to be. BUT....even with that said, we were given a team that hadn't been stopped all season and we handled them easily. It was a good win and should not be discredited.

I get the general premise of the OP, but your argument is absolutely awful. You need a lesson in logic.

Yes, the OB win was a good win for the program.
Yes, it also coincidentally set us back in the future because it set up Kirks new contract.

You can't then circle back and say the win was worthless.

I am so thankful to have the sanguine temperament I do. I cannot imagine waking up each day and feeling like some of you. "What can I complain or ***** about today?"

Just another topic to ***** about the same thing in a different way that's been done 100 times already. We're getting full up on those

Well of course you'd say that, as a well-known Ferentz apologist and spineless mouthpiece for Barta.

Admit it Jon! The truth will set you free!

:D

How anyone defends Ferentz after the past 3 seasons is a complete mystery.

I was thrilled with 11-2, an Orange Bowl championship and a #8 finish in the polls. 2009 was one of the greatest years in Iowa FB history and no one can ever convince me otherwise.

I actually was pretty happy with 8-5, with wins over #6 MSU, #12 Missouri, ranked Penn State, ranked Michigan, and an Insight Bowl championship. Could 2010 have been better? Of course, but we lost several close games.

7-6 in 2011 was ok, with a win over a ranked Michigan team.

4-8 hurts, when you consider that Iowa has won 60% of its games over the past 35 years (Fry and Ferentz). A 33% win percentage is not what Iowa should expect, based on that 35 year period. The trend is disturbing.

Here is the good news: We are starting over and we have nowhere to go but up!

Iowa fans downplaying winning their own team winning a BCS bowl is stupid.

It has nothing to do with Ferentz's resume but to downplay one of the bigger accomplishments in Iowa football history makes no sense.

Bigger accomplishments? I view the Outback win over Florida and the Cap1 win over LSU as bigger accomplishments than beating Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl. Now if they would have taken USC down in 03, that would have been a big accomplishment.
