Can we finally end the Orange Bowl watershed BS talk?

But you are the one sounding the trumpet like it was the greatest win in IA FB history and a marble statute of KF should be erected to commemorate that glorious event.......along with his lifetime contract......

I never said any of that, suggested it, or even thought of it. If you bothered to pay any attention to what people post around here I have been advocating his contract is to long and that Barta is to blame.

Your agenda is to tear down everything about Ferentz, I get that and "some" of it is justified. But you and the OP are taking the wrong route by tearing down the Orange Bowl victory. The OP claims he is not a troll but what you and he/she are doing is in fact trolling. You want to make solid points about Ferentz, bring up the season AFTER the Orange Bowl the greatest under performing team probably in the history of Iowa football. There have been so many bad mistakes this coaching staff has made over the years but you want to tear down the Orange Bowl win??????

No need to mix in all this legal jargon with your argument.

I guess I could dream up and project all kinds of outrageous intentions on the part of Iowa media, coaches and posters and post a scathing backlash comentary telling them how stupid they are. but why?

1. Georgia Tech was 1 dimensional
2. The man responsible for the win [Norm Parker] is gone
3. Warm weather team caught on a cold weather night
4. People love this game because it leads them to forget the 3 game coaching debacle that was the end of 2009: Northerwestern, OSU, MN

Quick, Barta, another raise for the greatest win in Iowa history, sandwiched between 8 years of bush league coaching--sans NFL prep--and recruiting.

Trick question: What have the other five of the highest six paid coaches in CFB done since the 2010 Orange Bowl? Any of them stay home this bowl season and party with their 5th year senior QB?

Does this mean KF should get a pass for the 2003 Orange Bowl loss?

1- Orange Bowl snatches up the Hawks before the Rose Bowl can. That causes us to play the hottest team in the country instead of Washington State in the Rose.

2- We play in Miami against a warm weather team.

3- Critics love this game because it leads them to forget the brilliant job the coaches did all year long.

Stupid troll.

Agree with the OP KF should have gone for the win @ the Shoe (I was there....huge disappointment). Probably the most disillusioned I've been with the program.

Disagree with the OP the Orange Bowl is over rated. A BCS game, with your own audience, never hurts (exposure, recruiting, national attitude towards the program, etc).

Somehow, however, Iowa has failed to capitalize on that fact.

Iowa fans downplaying winning their own team winning a BCS bowl is stupid.

It has nothing to do with Ferentz's resume but to downplay one of the bigger accomplishments in Iowa football history makes no sense.

I find it hard to believe they are Iowa fans.

I remember before that game the trolls were telling us how GT was going to run all over Iowa with that option. Now the bowl is over rated and GT was horrible.

down play the wins but please also down play the losses.....and live in a gray twilight. Look in the mirror get over it. Go outside and get some sunshine and fresh air.

Good points. Another thing people forget about that game is how long it was actually a close game. It was tied at halftime and was still a 1 score margin with 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Of course USC took over after that, but should we have been able to have hung around that long? Would have loved a shot at the Rose that year.

I am so thankful to have the sanguine temperament I do. I cannot imagine waking up each day and feeling like some of you. "What can I complain or ***** about today?"

Just another topic to ***** about the same thing in a different way that's been done 100 times already. We're getting full up on those

I agree with you here Jon. The horse was beaten dead a long time ago on a lot of these topics in the football forum.

Actually, I think this is an new and interesting development in the pathetic, self-loathing that some people insist on forcing on the masses. It has expanded beyond "Everything Kurt does sucks" to "Everything Kurt has ever done sucks".

Keep in mind, there is still 8 months until football season starts again...

Guys, celebrating a 3 year old Orange Bowl win is the mark of a loser program. Give it two more years and it will be 5 years old and you clowns will all sound like the KU fan I work with (without any basketball bragging rights, of course) waxing poetic about a stale bowl game that about 12 people who weren't fans of the respective teams watched. Just replace Ricky Stanzi with Todd Reesing and change the years. KU won the Insight Bowl the year after winning the Orange Bowl (in an expectation filled season) and has gone on to post the following win totals bince then: 5, 3, 2, 1. Maybe we can get to that level of tire fire, hell, I'd be shocked if KU wasn't the best 1 win team in the country last year.

The only way we follow KU's trajectory is if we fire our awesome coach.

BTW, when did you start working at a truck stop?
