I am with you completely Prez. No offense Okie, but I don't buy any of those arguments. The reason being is that all three of those points are based relative to each other. For instance, how do we know the Pac 12 is better than the Big 10? How do we know their strength of schedule is better than Iowa's? And who is to say that they are playing as well as anyone in the country right now? I know this is what the "experts" think, but it is all a charade.
1. First of all, Stanford has 1 loss. I don't care how it happened, when it happened, or who it happened to, I am sorry, they lost. Life sucks sometimes. And to go further, it isn't like it was like a bunch of crazy plays or turnovers, Northwestern shut them down.
2. They play in a conference much like the Big 12 where nobody plays defense. So when you score a bunch of points it makes you all look like heroes. And for some reason in this day an age, a 42-38 win looks much better than a 10-6 win. So when you see all those Pac 12 teams score a bunch of points on each other, who really cares. Because when they play someone with a defensive pulse, they get beat.
3. Did Iowa look better as a team vs. North Texas or Wisconsin? One would really have to watch the games and not just look at the stats to appreciate how great that Wisconsin win was. When I watch Stanford or any of those Pac 12 teams, their receivers are wide open, and I mean wide open, and the holes are miles wide. Like I say, I want to see Stanford run the ball against someone who has a decent run defense. Oh wait, they did, Northwestern. How did that work out for them?
I said this the other day on here too, I don't get the love for Stanford.
