Yeah and don't forget about the cheatin Crimson Tide's blocked field goal against a mediocre Tennessee game, at home, to preserve their NC.

IOWA was extremely close to being a part of the National Championship, in 2009. Everyone, (maybe except Ghost) seems to know that you need a bit of luck to win it all, as well as skill, hard work and brute force.

I think next years team is very capable of competing for a Bigten title. I think any team in the big six conferences that competes for a conference title is a legitimate national title contender as well, they just need things to break right for them. I have heard people say that Iowa hasn't been very good at handling high expectations but I don't see this group of veterans having that problem. The way they stayed mentally tough on the road last year was just so impressive I can't see them wilting under the pressure of preseason expectations.
