Campbell and Buford Leave Program

I can't blame Campbell. Two sports is college has to be mighty difficult. Splitting time between two sports in the spring takes away from your performance in both. I wish him the best of luck on the track.

Definitely not surprised to see Campbell drop out. He's been doing well for the track team this year, and recently stepped into the 4x400 relay after an injury to Iowa's best 400 runner.

So two more players leave the program. Business as usual, nothing to see here.

Drama Queen. Did you not notice this puts the Hawks at their 85 man limit? Man the University of Iowa must be the only program in the country that has players choose to go elsewhere or do something else with their lives....

Id say this maybe a big deal if these were offensive players, just because of how screwed up that side of the ball is and has been.

However the defense has held the program together. The coaches and players on the defensive side have for the most part held their own even though Kirk Davis makes them play most of the game with their punt happy offense.

I wish these players good luck.

Don't kids that leave for reasons such as these wait till after all the spring practices are up before they do that? To leave in the middle of the last week is abit odd perhaps.

I find it disappointing that Campbell is leaving. This guy has legitimate wheels. The track numbers don't lie. Any kind of a coaching staff that is worth their weight in, well, anything, should have seen this. Our brilliant OC who claimed he needed speed to run his offense should have made better use of him. Speed is a God given gift. Too bad our coaching staff isn't smart enough to make use of it. I bet a Saban-like coach could have found a way to get him on the field.

Its unfortunate. I wish him well.

Bashir Yamini says hi. Along with a ton of other guys that had amazing "track speed" that couldn't do anything on the football field.

Fast guys dont automatically make good football players.

As hoffa stated already with Yamini. Paul Chaney Jr?

And has Campbell ever played on the offensive side of the ball? Were any other teams recruiting him to play on the offensive side of the ball?
