Calling Jay Scheel?

No one ever seems to give a definitive on Scheel's status. Is he hurt again?
After he made that big preseason depth chart move, then fell off, nowhere to be found?

Hard to say. Probably won't get a strait answer from coaches now. My guess is that the timing of when he got hurt just allowed J Smith to pass him on depth chart and in season practices don't really give kids a fair shot at beating someone out. Reps are in short supply now. Most reps now are meant for game planning as opposed to full blown balls to the wall like camps are. He probably isn't catching many passes from CJ in practice now...

Ditto for Jonathan Parker. Would be nice to see some of these guys (and speed) on the field this weekend if we can get a lead.

Hope they keep their heads in the right place. Their time will come. And they'll be exciting to watch.

I think there is a lot of competition among our young receivers. I am excited to see that the one consistent comment we read about them is their tendency to be FAST. That includes Jay, Jonathan, and of course, Jerimec. (sp?) J. Smith was behind the WI defenders on a couple of occasions, but CJ did not get the ball where it was available. I will say this: The general view among those of us at the game, who know at least a little about football, and from watching the dvr version, admittedly TV views only, both the QB's and the receivers were really struggling to judge the pass/reception variables. I was on the 40 yard line and you would not believe the swirling, nasty wind that affected both CJ and WI QB, as well as the receivers on both teams. I am NOT wrong about this one.

It would be great to see him play if we have a sizable lead. I'd like to see us unleash some of the speed that's there on the depth chart.

I think its clear that the staff is not putting the best players on the field and the results show it. They have some weird points system thats like redeeming airline miles except its about work in the weight room and getting put in the depth chart. Either way its obvious Ferentz is trying to lose football games.

This. The players are winning in spite of Kurt.

Haven't had your coffee yet this morning, eh?

I've been wanting to see a jailbreak screen to Parker all season. Would've been a great play vs Wisconsin to alleviate some of the pressure CJB was getting.

I see what you did there.

This is kind of turning into a situation similar to Barkley Hill in years past. I guy kind of comes along and gets mentioned then gets an injury, only to fall off the face of the earth never to be heard about again. I kind of completely forgot about him until this thread. What is going on with him?

I thought Barkley Hill transferred. Too lazy to google him...

EDIT: Ok, I bit. He DI transfer to UNI after 2013 season. Now a junior at UNI, now playing LB. Said "nothing bad to say bout Iowa, they were stacked at my position". Hmmm.
