Caldwell out; <strike>Dake</strike> Jenkins in vs. Metcalf

Brent Metcalf will wrestle Kyle Dake Thursday night. Darrion Caldwell has pulled out of the Beat the Streets Gala showdown

I'm guessing its another excuse as to "not tarnish" his record against Metcalf!!! LOL. Supposedly injured!

Had to figure this rematch was too good to be true. Wish they could have found someone better to match up with Metcalf like Frayer, Jenkins, or Palmer. Someone where there would have been a rivalry.

Well, I'm guessing weight would be an issue for a lot of guys not training for a specific match... wouldn't be the first time weight was a problem for this match

Am I the only one that actually loves this matchup? Dake is awesome to watch wrestle and i think it's going to be exciting as hell! I mean really do i want to see metcalf vs jenkins again? i've seen that movie. Metcalf vs Palmer? in freestyle? can you say 1-0, 0-1, 1-0? no thank you. Frayer would be fine, but I for one think the Dake match up is going to be really exciting.
 
The problem I see with Dake is while he is a Very good folkstyle wrestler how much "freestyle" has he done. He is extremely hard to score on in folkstyle and has great hips! Does this translate to freestyle? I just don't know. Metcalf has a experience advantage. I guess it just doesn't have that "flash" that the other matchup would have had.
I might also add that it sounds like a bunch of BS to me. I said off boards all year to people that know me in that I feel he could have wrestled but didn't want to tarnish his record against Brent. Beatty & Keddy wrestled and to me showed more character,heart,guts whatever you want to call it!!! Those 2 showed what wrestling is all about guys they gutted out and did what they could when either one easily could have taken the year off and more than likely got a medical redshirt but they didn't!
 
what a shame and dake is noooo sloutch this will be interesting and if dake wins could start this kids legacy
 
Metcalf will destroy Dake.....they are not in the same league when it comes to the ability to score from their own offense. Dake's scrambling ability will not help him in a freestyle matchup and he going to have a hard time keeping up with Metcalf's attacks and being able to stay in the center of the mat.
 
not saying he will beat him but if he pulls off an upset this kid will be getting a lot of buzz next year
 
At some point Metcalf and Caldwell will wrestle. I have no idea about whether or not he is backing out. I have no reason to beleive that he would.

Metcalf wrestling Dake is not good for Metcalf. It's an obvious lose lose situation. If he wins but doesn't dominate, it doesn't do anything for his legacy. Dake can come out good no matter what. If he wrestles tough and stays with him, that will be a victory for those who hate Metcalf. The scary part is that Dake is really good too. He is the next face of NCAA D1 wrestling.

how injured is Caldwell I wonder if he will be at the WTT in a month. Dont really care for the Dake vs Metalf match at all. Metcalf should man handle him i know Dake was a big 141 but dont think he will match Metcalf in strength.
