Cael's Reception Tonight

Met up with a couple that we used to have season football tickets next to, that also have wrestling tickets. We were discussing how we thought that Cael would be received tonight when he is introduced. What do you thinK?

I doubt that he gets the "boo's" that John Smith gets (and usually deserves). But I am curious to see how the crowd reacts when he is introduced. Maybe some ISU'ers will be in the house tonight to continue to voice their displeasure?

Hope they BOO him loudly. I know I would if I was able to be there.

With my dad and aunt being isu grad's I know I am going to let him know what I think about his defection. To me its not so much that he left isu, its more about what he said about it being "easier" to win at psu!

I don't have a problem clapping for a 4 time Champ that doesn't live in Iowa any more.Hell I wish he was still at ISU because I can see a difference in the way they wrestle with the new coaching staff and they will be more of a threat to us now than when Cael was there.

I think Cael is overrated as a coach so far. He is a great recruiter. But I dont think he was much of a coach during the match. He just sat there and didnt say/do much.

As an Iowa fan I hated to see ISU hire Kevin Jackson, he was the best man available for the job. It's not all that surprising that he practically had to beg Pollard for an interview.

I heard the last chant, but could not make out what they were saying. Thanks for posting that. I thought that section next to the band was extra rowdy last night.

Perhaps the Lions have seriously overrated their coach. He'll have better talent next year, but whether he can coach them to their potential remains to be seen.

"Cael's no Gable" was my personal favorite. Interesting to see ISU transfer Clark on the Iowa bench grinning and enjoying the anti-Cael chants with his new teammates.
