Cade Knee injury

Well that wasn't good. Word on twitter is he took himself out after going down. I was watching video of him in a youtube video, I sensed he was running in a very delicate way. And lo and behold...

Hopefully it just buckled on him and he just strained a muscle or something very mild. Easy to do coming off knee surgery (muscle loss is very common) especially on that turf.

If the Oline doesn't improve he will not last the season. It's so hard to say if they improved at all because of how good Iowa's Dline is. From watching it live I don't know if Iowa gets any passes off if the D didn't have to pull up on all their hits. I bet at full speed they would have had sacks on 3 out of 4 plays. Hill who looked lost against the first team D looked decent against the 2nd and 3rd team. Marco will probable red-shirt and Brown is very raw. It looked like he struggled to line up in the right formations. Now Seth looked great. High-pointed the ball, got separation, and held on to the ball for the most part. Seth is the real deal. Defense will be a wrecking ball all season. This is the most dominating D-Line I've seen since watching Iowa football. That's like over 40 years. I'm hoping Dunker gets moved inside on the line because he is not a tackle. Parker hopefully takes that spot. He is certainly big enough and I'm hoping his lateral movement is good. Dunker just couldn't block the DE's because of his lack of speed. There's talent there, especially on defense. I could see this line improving a lot but not there yet. Way too many free paths to the QB, missed blocks, and honestly some of the lineman were looking lost. Running back will be strong, Kicking will be great, 4 deep at tight end. Come on O-Line, Iowa needs you to improve.

The test results will be in today as to whether or not there is a quad tear, and how severe it is if there is one.

Best case scenario for such a scare like that anyway. It was weird. He wasn't cutting or stopping or anything. He just started leaning forward and his leg kinda gave way. KF didn't seem too worried anyway. Best guess they hold him out a week maybe 2. Which still sucks. All those guys need the reps with him just as much as he needs them himself with this O.

Why can't we ever have nice things??!? Petras was healthy 95% of his career just about but he stunk and couldn't get him out of the lineup enough. We get a damn good QB and we can't keep him healthy for a public practice. I know I'm over reacting but man nothing would get a lot of Hawk fans to check out faster then if he's out for a significant amount of time.

I wondered about that. I wasn't at the practice or seen him play recently but as big and strong as he is I was wondering if he had the feet for playing tackle. Sounds like he's not a heck of a lot better then DeJong or some of the others they had out there last yr. Parker has been nicked up since he's been here it sounds like. Tough to really know what they have him in yet either. I'm not too worried about the guard spots. I think Feth will lock down one of them with someone emerging for the other (be it Dunker if he does kick inside or someone else) Center we are at Jones mercy to develop so that is what it is.

A quad tear seems pretty unlikely in a healthy athlete. Probably just a strain and that is a big muscle to get calmed down. Seems like the type of thing you can play through, but does not fully heal until after the season. Having some mobility back there is so needed, so let's hope its just a strain that needs some rest. Everyone has injuries in camp.

I thought the same thing. DLine was in the backfield almost every play. I am hoping that's a nod to them and not how poor the OLine is going to be this year.
