Byrd Sightings?

In my best Joe Pa imitation, "Damiere, come to Iowa!" However, I'm with the others in thinking he's SC bound.

This choice surprised me a bit. It surely wasn't coaching staff or situations because everything was lined up perfectly for him here. I think he will regret this choice very quickly. South Carolina is not even a flavor of the week. It is like asking for Kool Aid and receiving Grape flavor. It is college football, but you are still South Carolina.
Must have been a hot chick involved... all poor decisions in life are usually caused over a hot chick.
Again... poor choice. I could see Ohio State, Alabama, and a few others... but South freaking Carolina?

South Carolina puts more receivers into the NFL. I'm not saying that's why he chose that school but it's something to keep in mind. Iowa doesn't put alot of skill position players into the league.

I would have to agree that Iowa hasn't put many WR into the league, but what WR have we had at Iowa that should have been and didn't? The Iowa coaching staff develops every other position... why wouldn't a solid WR have the same option. Seriously... what WR has Iowa had that SHOULD have made it to the NFL?

South Carolina has ONE WR in the NFL! Sydney Rice, ONE TE Jared Cook, and get this... ZERO QB or RB. A total of 17 players.

Iowa on the other hand has almost twice as many players in the league with 30... no WR, but 4 TE and 3 RB.

Additionally, our WR coach is the former Michigan WR coach who HAS put many WR into the league (but even Michigan only has 4 WR on current NFL rosters).

So.. if they sold South Carolina on making the league... they lied, and he believed it!

Dont overlook the fact that they knock the consensus #1 team off... Alabama who most people still for some stupid reasont think is the best team in the nation..
He had his mind made up as soon as he left the visit which is obvious because SC lost to Kentucky last week on a terrible coaching move. If Bama won that game, Byrd is a Hawkeye next year..
