Maybe it will be like the 2009 game. The last 10 minutes will be the most interesting. Being that it's an away game, however, I'm going with the loss.

I don't get all these pessimists, Iowa is coming off a bye week and if they put that week to good use there passing game should be improved and compared to a Michigan State team that hasn't been that impressive except for one game, I think they pull this one off.

To be honest all this negative talk is getting old. Now it doesn't matter what the outcome of a game is, people just rag on this team. Were 1-0 in the B1G and handled ourselves well against an undefeated Minny team. I get criticizing, but to throw in the towel on a season when Iowa almost always improves over the course of a season just doesn't make sense to me.

Didn't someone last week say Ferentz is like 3-6 coming off of bye weeks?

We lost to freaking CENTRAL MICHIGAN!!! At home! They're 2-3 and 0-2 in MAC. If we can't beat Central Michigan at home how are we beating any team on the road? MSU destroyed us last year at Kinnick.

I'm starting to get a gut feeling that Iowa will win this one, even though there's no rational reason to expect it.

He's actually 3-5. Why I don't buy the bye week prep being any advantage.

I think Iowa has the best offensive line in the Big Ten and they are going to test that good run defense of Michigan State. But having said that Vandy needs to have a huge game for Iowa to have any chance at winning at MSU. Even a good offensive line will struggle to run against 8 or 9 in the box. Putting together a game plan against Iowa is easy, stop the run and force Vandy to beat you.

I think Iowa has the best offensive line in the Big Ten and they are going to test that good run defense of Michigan State. But having said that Vandy needs to have a huge game for Iowa to have any chance at winning at MSU. Even a good offensive line will struggle to run against 8 or 9 in the box. Putting together a game plan against Iowa is easy, stop the run and force Vandy to beat you.

The difficulty with that is what if MSU can't stop Weisman? No one other then the Iowa coaches have.

You're comparing last year's MSU team to this year's MSU team.

And as average as JVB has been at home this season, traditionally he's been worse on the road throughout his career.

That was two frickin weeks ago……get over it already! It happened and it can’t be changed. Go take your “we won’t win another game this season “attitude somewhere else because it’s wearing thin here.

Yes, I hear what you’re saying, but MSU just made the BACKUP QB at Indiana look pretty damn good (282 yards, 68.8% completions and 3 TDs vs 0 ints), and that was with Indiana having no running game to speak of. You have to at least feel optimistic that if they can keep JVB upright, he could have a decent day.

one thing's for sure, our O-line better be on their A game, cause why wouldn't they stack the box and blitz every play. it's not like JVB has shown he can make anyone pay for that this year. if we can't get the run going, it will be a super long day.

i'm actually confident that we can somewhat stifle their offense. i'll definitely be better the under on this game!

We can play the what if game all day long but the fact is no one is running against MSU, not even Notre Dame or Ohio State. The best anyone has ran against MSU was Ohio State and that was with Braxton Miller running for 136 yards, a number I seriously doubt Vandy can duplicate. Weisman has had some incredible games but these are games against UNI, Central Michigan, and Minnesota not exactly powerhouse defenses. I hate saying this but I would be surprised if Weisman rushed for over 100 yards against MSU, if he does he would be the first running back to do so against them.

It's all on JVB and the defense. I feel confident the defense can keep it close, cause that's what they almost always do. If it's close, can JVB make plays? You know MSU is going to blitz like crazy, and anytime he feels the pressure, he panics. We have to take shots down the field, even if we don't complete all of them, just to keep MSU defense honest. We cannot go wtih the dink and dunk game off to our FB or a 3 yard out to CJF. There is nothing to fear from those plays.
