Buying Big Ten title game tix?

I think I saw these went on sale last year on August 1? I don't see much info out there for buying 2016 BTT game tix yet.

Does anyone know if they will be on sale again this year on 8/1?

Also, did anyone buy or sell on the Team Tix exchange last year? (Where you pay $10 to reserve the right to buy should your team make it?).

I'm kind of thinking you're better off buying the best seats possible right away and then either keeping them if Iowa qualifies or selling if they don't...perhaps last year was an anomaly, but I'm kind of guessing tix usually go for well over face the week of the game...
 
From what I have heard the demand for tickets last year was an anomaly. You really had a combination of factors that all contributed to huge demand. You had an Iowa far base that travels as well as any that was thirsty for a run at the title. You combine that with a man Iowa team that is 12-0 playing a top ranked MSU squad that is only 4 hours away. Then, it's 2 teams that have not met yetand and it is essentially a defacto playin game for the CFP. That will give you have crazy demand.

If Iowa wins the west this season with 1-2 losses and makes the B1G champs game, there simply won't be the same demand. If they play OSU or MI, sure, they travel but for OSU, it's an expected place for them to be and if it's MI, it will be a rematch for a game played a few weeks before.

That having all been said, $10 is cheap insurance and beats scrambling to scalp.
 
Hopefully someone updates this thread when they go on sale. I will probably buy them and seal iowa's fate for a crappy season.
 
I bought mine the Sunday right after we won at Wisky (I was there)....just felt as if something special was brewing...got cheap motel rooms too. I wold have gone to the game anyway even if Iowa hadn't gone.
 
We already have our hotel rooms booked a couple blocks from the stadium, just in case. Will hold off on tickets for a while until I see how the season is shaping up.

Big Ten Title game tickets go on sale Saturday July 30 according to Big Ten Network twitter. Can pay $10 for 'insurance' which automatically gets you a ticket if Iowa qualifies. Or you can just buy a ticket.
