Burak!!!

With the money available for this recruiting class. What a great job that this coaching staff did to land a tremendous class!

He a state champ from Colorado, he'll be coming in after spending a year at the OTC in Co Springs. Should be a great pickup for 184/197.

Great news welcome aboard Mr Burak! This kid has tremendous upside, great attitude and relentless pursuit. I believe a previous poster had said he was at the OTC.

Someone please help me with my understanding of how scholarships are utilized. The way I see it, the guys in this recruiting class will be utilizing the scholarships that are currently tied up with this year’s seniors. If that’s the case, Montell Marion, Blake Rasing, Brodie Ambrose, Tyler Clark, Stew Gillmor, Tyler Halverson, J.J. Krutsinger, Vinnie Wagner are the class that this year’s class replaces. I have to think only Montell is the only guy with a sizable scholarship and the others are on pretty small partials. I REALLY like how the staff translated that scholarship money into talent this class with #5 Thomas Gilman, #8 Nate Skonieczny, #22 Sam Brooks, #24 Clory Clark, #52 Alex Meyer, Carton UR, Burak. Plus I’m sure more walk-on type guys will sign in the Spring to add depth. This class has got to be one of the most incredibly fruitful with the amount of scholarships available of all time. Excellent job staff! You have proven once again why you are the best in the country.

As reported by fulsasf, i believe, the room can have 40 kids getting 25% that equals 9.9 scholly's per year.
3.5 GPA for academics there is no cap as to how many academic schollys awarded.

If every kid were created equal and got 25% that would be about right but there are so many factors. Many kids get more than 25% and just as many get less than that. That is why the walk on program and the likes are so valuable in wrestling. Getting guys who want to come for little to no money just for the chance to wrestle for Iowa is what keeps this program rolling!
