Who predicted a 20 win season?

I did. I also predicted Iowa would be in the Dance I believe and if not for the 4 bad losses we would be there..:) Where is the thread.

GoHawks there was another thread to that one as well. Somebody posted the schedule and we predicted wins and losses off it

There's a bigger thread with more predictions...several were over 20....I'm not going to take the time to hunt it down though.

Watching Kenny Powers work his magic to take the bubble bursting pain away.....

It is working well, watching Kenny work his parenting skills is priceless. The Dude can Parent....

It's all good, the Big Ten Tournament awaits and a run is being prepared. We have them exactly where we want them.....

:D

ah, true!
But I officially chose the lower end! :)

Don't worry, next season I'm going all out. 22 or 23! haha

Bubble burst? Did you really think Iowa was going to make it to the big dance? This team may flirt with the NIT and that would be about right for this year's team. Next year, I hope we sneak into the Big Dance ... There was no bubble to burst. Iowa did not deserve to be in the Big Dance this year. Yes, we had some very nice wins and we showed signs of really coming on ... But you don't beat the likes of Indiana and Wisky but then lost on the road to the likes of NW, PSU, and Illinois ... We are getting there ... just not this year ...

How about home losses to campbell and nebraska? Or road losses to penn st nebraska, so on and so forth. We had some nice wins but a lot of bad losses. Good effort but huge lack of talent all around and especially in the paint.

The bubble talk and NCAA tourny hopes were a long shot... but I think it is funny how people act like it was never a possibility. After the Wisconsin game almost everyone seemed to be talking about the tourny hopes and what needed to happen and giving out all these different situations that could play out... but now everyone is "oh well we weren't even apart of the bubble talk." or "People who thought that there was even a possibility are delusional."

Not really. The bubble is weak this year. If Iowa won the rest of the regular season games and picked up a win in the BTT tourny... there was a legitimate chance for us. Obviously we would have needed a lot of things to go our way and we would have had to have luck on our side, but it isn't like there was absolutely NO WAY that we were even going to be considered.

When we play good basketball and play the way we are capable of playing... We have a shot at beating almost anyone in the B1G. No team is untouchable. It all depends on the night and crazy things can happen.

Had we finished strong, won tonight, and finished out the season winning in the best conference in America... We definitely had reason to be part of the bubble talk. Our resume is a mess, but if you look at some of the other teams on the bubble like SVP said... you would see that the bubble is pretty weak this year and some teams that are being talked about would be no more deserving than Iowa to be mentioned in the discussion.

It's pretty irrelevant now, but I am happy with the direction this program is headed. You really have to be quite pleased with the progress Fran and this program has made in such a short amount of time.

We will be better next year and hopefully we will be more consistent and our returning players will continue to grow and make progress and improvements to their game.

Either way... I will continue to watch every game and cheer this team on even if all post-season tourny hopes are crushed.

Go Hawks!
