Bryce Miller: Lack of playmakers, not Ferentz, causing Hawkeyes’ woes

How do you know this? Is it because he is black? Are you into stereotypes NickM?

One more thing on this b/c it's such a BS comment for you to throw out there, I'd take Considine, Sash or Pagel over Donatel, Law or any other safety we have on the roster in a heartbeat.

So you would agree that the offense was average or above average in KF's first 13 years?

I'd say statistically it was probably about average when compared to every single D1 school in the country, including the MAC, Sunbelt, C-USA, etc. teams. But I'm not a stats guy. I'm more concerned with how the team does in certain situations. If you score 55 points against Ball State and then come back and score 3 against Iowa State, you average 29 points per game. What does that stat tell you? Tells me we are averaging 3 points per game against BCS schools.

Can you make the stop when you need to make it? Can you get the points when you need to get the points? Can you convert the 3rd and 5 clinging to a 2 point lead with 3 minutes left to put the game on ice? Those questions are more important to me than stats. I didn't completely hate the O'Keefe offense, but it needed tweaked. EVEN KF SAID THIS. If I had to live on stats I suppose I would look first at 3rd down conversions from both the offense and defense and points per game against BCS level opponents.

Ooooh, now u mad.

Nope. Not sure I'm capable of getting mad at an internet post from a stranger. Just pointing out the doucheness of your race baiting. I think Kirksey is quicker than Bigach too. I must be into stereotypes :)

WHAT? you telling me that Bigach is Black, I could have swore he was white

There's a reason Donatel hasn't seen any legit playing time until his 5th year walk-on season. He's just not that talented. There's a reason the Iowa coaches offered a scholarship to Law. You can do the math on that, I guess.

Couldn't we apply your own logic to the reason Law isn't playing?

As for Donatell, he was a walk on because he tore both of his ACLs in high school. He didn't play earlier because he has changed positions twice since he has been at Iowa. And finally, Donatell was given a scholarship at Iowa as well.

Use the Google and stop derping up a perfectly fine hate thread.

I can't tell if you are directing the sarcasm to me or not. I said Law looked quicker than Donatel and Section 136 said I was stereotyping b/c Law is black and Donatel is white. If I said Kirksey (who is black) is quicker than Bigach (who is white), would Section 136 say I was stereotyping? Of course not, b/c obviously Kirksey is quicker than Bigach. That's my point.

Whoa! Where did that come from, Jimmy the Greek?

Not kewl brah. Not kewl at all.

Section8-

Can you please provide the statistical evidence that KF's offenses were consistently average to above average? What...in the BIG or nationally? Because you are wrong!

Do you KF lovers have any idea what the rest of the nation thinks about KF and Iowa football at this point? Do you ever leave your bubble. People outside Iowa think KF is a JOKE! They can't believe that he gets paid as much as he does. And, yes, this is relevant. College football fans and bloggers talk about it outside of Iowa...and the are befuddled. The team is boring to watch and makes other teams boring to watch too. This is entertainment...it's about time people realize this because this is the new reality of college football.

I love statements like this...any proof?

Absolutely correct you can apply that logic. If they were both sophomores and both making sophomore mistakes I'd say pick your poison. The coaches obviously see something in Law b/c he is getting more PT. Again, I'm not saying pull out a starter who has been performing reasonably well, or who has a history of performing well, just b/c we have a younger player that may add a little more quickness or some other tangible. The safety play has not been good, there does not appear to be any drop off in safety play when Law is in over Donatel, Law has two more years of eligibility...to me it's no-brainer. Play the younger guy.

Every thing in college football comes back to the HC, lack of play makers = a lack of recruiting which = a lack of wins which in turn = a fan base that is no longer energized for Saturdays'. This writer is off target on his article as JVB is on a slant......way off and in the dirt.

Adapt like what? Hire an OC who won a national title and coached Vince Young and Colt McCoy? The problem is not that he is stuck in his ways, the problem is that he tried to adapt and that attempt has failed miserably.

I think it says a lot that Davis was available. I don think we have an VYs on this team.
