Bryant is 337 in kenpom

In comparison to last season yes. But big ten is going to tough. I'm thinking .500 in conference is enough to still get a bid. But that probably depends on if they have some big wins or not.
If the go 7-13 we'll be lucky.. maybe NIT, if so, Fran should be gone.. even with who he's bringing in.. Plus Barta, doesn't relly have 5 names in his desk he could call..OUCH

Just glad we didn't lose it... Flush that turd down the drain. Playing a super small team like that was a terrible matchup for us. I thought Wieskamp played terrible for him. I thought Moss disappeared most of the game. They didn't have anyone that could guard either of them for us. (Cook did what he could I thought, he is highly dependent on others feeding him and how the D plays him) JBo did good for the most part. Got cold again though for a chunk of the game. Wish he'd have stayed hot.
They were throwing up shots that had no business going in and hustled all over. Give them credit. Not to mention played with guys in foul trouble throughout. Basketball can be a weird game like that. We kept them in the game hanging around and their confidence had to be through the roof in the 2nd half.
Great teaching lesson for Fran I bet paint was flying off the walls at half and maybe even after the game too.

One hundred likes. He would probably throw his own wife under the bus if it would save his face but that would raise the question of whether Tanya could actually fit under the bus.

When the subject of Steve Alford comes up on Dan Bernstein's WSCR sports talk show out of Chicago it is a must listen. Even if it makes you a couple minutes late for your next appointment.

Wins like that can be the perfect teaching moments. He will have their attention the next four days, no question about that.

First game in over a week, coming off of a holiday, students still on break, big conference game coming up, and this only counts as 1 of 32+ games. Meh, it is what it is. Be thankful they pulled it out and move on to the next one.

It is a bit concerning they continue to struggle against small ball lineups that front and deny Cook the ball. Not having Garza hurt as Fran was unwilling to take Cook out for a breather. I believe Tyler played all 40 minutes...

Things could be so much worse, just look at yesterday's slate for the Pac 12. That has to be one of the most embarrassing days in their conferences' basketball history. UCLA lost to Liberty, Washington State lost to Santa Clara, Arizona State lost to Princeton, and California lost to Seattle. Throw in the other big conferences and you see Wisconsin lost to Western Kentucky, Illinois lost to Florida Atlantic, Wake Forest lost to Gardner Webb, and Texas A&M lost to Texas Southern.

All of the above games were just from yesterday so in summary, one bad game against a poorly ranked opponent doesn't mean much, especially when you end up winning the game. The key is to learn from it and come out focused for the upcoming conference games.
Yep. Sure could have been a loss. Take the positive outcome.

Difficult to be motivated for every game, normal to take some time off against "sure win" opponents. Isn't that why they are scheduled in the first place?

Basketball, especially with the 3 point shot, is a sport where teams that shouldn't win, have a chance. For example, in FB and Hockey the "better" team most often wears down the weaker one in the end, with some exceptions of course. In BB, you can nail some three pointers, get a few turnovers, have the better team off the mark shooting, and be in it: block out, stay in front of the other team, make them make shots, make your free throws, stay close, use time outs wisely...steal a win that shouldn't be, but is.

Yea it's what makes basketball exciting.

Arizona state beat Kansas then went on to lose to Princeton. I do believe Kansas had a key injury.

The biggest concern was losing points in the paint and maybe shooting from three so much when they should have had advantage at the rim.

Was Kriener injured too?

Kreiner was taken out after the mind boggling brain fart of a double dribble . His mind was clearly elsewhere

Not being completely focused against a terrible team isn't really a concern this year anymore. In fact, this game has me more worried against teams like Illinois and Rutgers than it does against against anyone else we have left. And that's only if we are winning the other games to actually have a big head.

Agree with most of this. In hockey, however, there are countless examples of the goalie "standing on his head" and bailing out a team that should have lost. Some nights they see the puck well, or guess right, or several would be goals hit the post. I saw it last night in a local USHL game. The Dubuque Fighting Saints gave up one goal and had close to forty shots on goal, including a penalty shot. The Green Bay goalie stopped every one of them.

Goalie can be like a dominant starting pitcher in MLB, some nights be best hitters can't touch him.

I love hockey, Vegas fan, have gone to a few games, also go to Milwaukee Admirals, AHL, fast paced, only one timeout per game. Don't piddle around. Players don't stop to argue. Also like the penalty of taking away a player for a time with an infraction. Even when play is stopped, it isn't for long, line up quickly for a face off and away they go. There seems to be a bit of "puck luck" in hockey. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. The closer the shots are to the goal, the better the chances of course. And, if the goalie has a clear view, it is difficult to get by him most of the time. I enjoy it more now, with the faster pace, less hooking, slashing allowed, less fighting. Those NHL skater fly!
