At most places it is a generally accepted practice to grant the band the right of way. I have been to many games in many places and seen many different bands marching (band geek who always goes to find where the bands are before a game) and have never seen people not move to the side when a band is coming through - home or visitors.

The formation the band was in took up very little space and was clear off to the side. I like to watch the bands also and hunt them up when I'm at Kinnick and I've never seen anybody get in the way when they are heading to the stadium. I haven't seen it when they leave the stadium either. In the old days all the visitors brought their bands and if I remember correctly whoever won the game there band always wore their hats on backwards. There wasn't any of this stupid crap that the clowns pulled just because they lost. Stupid clowns!
