Wren Baker and WVU are making a late push to steal Ben McCollum from Iowa, shaking up the coaching landscape in college basketball. Sources say WVU is trying...www.youtube.com
He is. He really needs a consistent 3 pt shot to help his game and neutralize any defenders on him. It is my understanding that he shot a much better 3 pt % in HS. If he was able to get that back, defenders would have to come out on him then he could blow by him to the rim to dish or shot if open. With his size, he'd often drive low and get into no man's land looking for a kickout. He had success with that but it really can screw with the motion of an offense at times. He’s a good player, of course he is.
What you're trying to say is he is no "Donnie Lester". I hear yaLet's be honest here. Brock never was that awesome point guard that many anticipated and hoped he would be. There was a lot of hype saying he was going to be the type of guard we have been lacking under Fran's regime. I would say he was just an average big ten guard at best. That's not disparaging him at all. To be average in the Big Ten conference is damn good compared to other power five conferences.
I would say the same thing about Fran's boy's also. Good kids, all three played hard for Iowa, but in my opinion, they would have been just average big ten off the bench type of players at the better big ten basketball programs.
To all three of them I say, "thank you for all your efforts" and best wishes moving forward in your lives.
Tho ... It would be nice to have a spark plug backup to spell Stirtz(? ... I'll have it down by NovemberOf all the guys that say they are entering the portal, Brock is at the top of my list of not bringing him back.
Harding shot 40% from 3 this season. That surprised me when I saw it, but he really got hot from distance late in the season. A quick point guard who can penetrate AND hits 40% from 3? You bet he's gonna have some good options. He is. He really needs a consistent 3 pt shot to help his game and neutralize any defenders on him. It would be interesting to see what he could do in an offense with a much more disciplined half court offensive set with controlled motion.
He really does need that outside shot, though.

Underestimation of Harding is rampant here. Have you looked at the schools who have shown interest? He will be a junior. Showed good development from his first year. I would welcome him back. Maybe can’t afford him…
