Enlighten us, please.Maybe if you knew more about the details of coaching football, you would have appreciated his remarks at a deeper level.

LolAt my age I go to sleep pretty easily these days and I could have slept through it too![]()
I totally like Brian. Just saying, I could have slept through that and not missed a thing.
This went beyond that. KF has decent analogies. His dad is Kirk Ferentz and he coached under Belichick. What should we expect?
Yeah, well, so am I. Grumpy old men, you know...Your act is getting really old.
Enlighten us, please.
#1 it's their job to try and find something to write.Read Chad L. on Hawk Central. Read Rob H. on Hawkeye Nation. You probably won't listen, but there is some good stuff there about Brian's remarks.

#2 they always put their own read or spin on things.
Who in their right mind had to be told that it helps when a team (the entire team) understands what it is they are trying to do. How to adjust if the parameters change.
That's the story line?? Wow. News flash, water is wet!!
Over on Hawk Central there is an article that confirms that KOK and Copeland had said about the receivers, yet you didn't hear that from Brian. He made it sound like we are closer to the same as the last few years than we are to where we want to be.
Sounds like we might have an ok ol but any injury could be a problem. Same as always.
We are young at rb. Again water is wet.
That's a pretty lazy way out.Read Chad L. on Hawk Central. Read Rob H. on Hawkeye Nation. You probably won't listen, but there is some good stuff there about Brian's remarks.
Basically read any other coaches presser. Like I said, you tell them how the group as a whole is progressing, then you sing a little praise for who is standing out.OK. I get it. So, what would you have liked to hear from Brian?
Not really. I read Brian's transcript and it was, for me, hard to follow at times. Maybe I just wasn't reading well. When I read Chad's and Rob's explanations, I thought they were pretty clarifying, at least for me. I just don't understand what people want to hear from coaches when they address the media. I would love to have someone give me examples. I have listened to other head coaches on Sirius Radio and I really cannot tell the difference between what KF typically says and what any other head coach says. That's a pretty lazy way out.
Read Phil's transcript or watch the video on YouTube.I just don't understand what people want to hear from coaches when they address the media. I would love to have someone give me examples.
That's the deal, if you listen to them (for me anyway) you get very good at picking up on things. Not really. I read Brian's transcript and it was, for me, hard to follow at times. I guess I was also expecting to hear a lot of negatives about Brian's comments based on the posters who seem to be critical of the coaching staff no matter what. I suppose you can criticize me for wearing rose colored glasses; but those who insist on wearing blinders as to any positives get really annoying.
Who's improving, who's maybe not so much.OK. I get it. So, what would you have liked to hear from Brian?
At the end of the day, the No. 1 metric we’re looking at to figure out if we’re where we need to be offensively is are we winning games or are we losing them,” Ferentz said.
LolWhile we're on this subject, can we get rid of those ridiculous end of the half interviews where the interviewer ends up following the coach three fourths of the way to the locker room?
No coach is going to say anything of value at that moment and few are in the mood to do it. And the sideline reporter isn't going to ask anything of substance anyway.
I think the networks are simply looking for the opportunity to get a coach to lose his composure so that they have a story on their hands. Basketball isn't any better, either. Most of those coaches look like their training for the Boston Marathon when the microphone gets stuck in their face at that moment.
Thanks. Sense of humor is a very difficult thing to get across in anonymous print.Lol
You have a good point. Funny but true. My favorite brand of humor.
