Brian Ferentz interview

Yeah interesting with KOK. Him I honestly don't know about. I believe it though he seems like that type of guy. I've heard PP at a coaching clinic speak before and in that setting he was dropping F bombs all over the place. It wasn't that he was mad or anything. We all know guys that just cuss a lot. That's him.
Sounds a lot like me. I can turn it off pretty easily though

Yeah some can and some can't (or at least don't) For me I can sensor myself depending on who I'm around. It's the guys that talk that way all the time around woman, kids in certain public settings that just blow my mind.

I'll give BF the benefit of the doubt for last year but this year I expect to see notable improvement and not just in WIN/LOSS which could partially happen just given the schedule. I want to see us make progress away from a 1940s offensive scheme.

Are we still going to think BF has "it" if his offense finishes in the bottom 3/4 of the nation again this year?

My concern is that BF knows only one way, and that's the KF way.

What exactly was the reason for the Iowa offense to look so good against OSU, and then so bad against WI and PU?

It's the same every year.
No. This is the closest an Iowa offense has been to having “all the pieces” in quite a long time. Anything short of a top 50 offense will be a major disappointment.

I'm still skeptical that we have "the pieces". We still haven't seen anyone show us the consistent goods at WR. We have a short stable of very green RB's that we know very little about. We are missing almost all of the interior OL with green guys ascending the ranks. QB to TE's is about the only stuff we can be confident will have any rhythm.

Could it all come together? Sure, but I am still hesitant to be that optimistic.

Note that I said we’re the closest we’ve been. As always that hinges on the OL and wide receivers, but the TEs couldn’t really get any better, and the WRs really do look to be the best they’ve been in a while. We can’t know for sure, but in terms of and Iowa offense I do believe this is the closest we’ve been since Stanzi was the QB, and our current guy doesn’t seem to have quite as much of a turnover problem. If the offensive line is competent then this offense should be the prototypical “good” Iowa offense at a minimum, with a higher ceiling than usual.

It has potential.
