Brian Ferentz Being Asked Today About Oliver Martin's Playing Time

bob62 is dropping bombs tonight...

i'm getting out of the blast zone.

If I am, they're nothing personal. I just think the whole thing is a nothing-burger on the order of the Athletic Department's responsibility over the marching band.

AJ Derby
Drew Cook
Epenesa

All of them 4 or 5 stars by at least one service. Between the three . . . 1 year as a starter. If all 3 had the last name Ferentz, it wouldn't be 1 year as a starter . . . it would be 9 years of starting. Teacher's pet syndrome is a problem. Look at some of the decisions at QB for proof of that.

Steve Ferentz must feel very left out. Did he even garner a single snap?

How, because he was a walk on?
He didn't play and you just said that yourself.
So how the hell is that nepotism?

Hundreds of walkons have practiced at Iowa since KF became coach. Most of them not seeing any play time. Like Steve.

Pretty sure Bob was being facetious.

Did you see the post I was answering? He went on and on about KF, favoritism, etc. I felt the need to point out that Steve Ferentz didn't quite benefit from KFs "incompetence" and "favoritism"...

I replied to your reply to my reply...
And my sarcasm detector is totally broken after spending all day driving the kids to different apple orchards.

Bye weeks suck.

Even worse than night games. I hate not being able to drink until 4pm!

Apple orchards would be a welcome sight, though, here in Florida.

yeah, i get it. if they can find touches for four RBs at one position, they should be able to find touches for 5 WRs at two positions. It's early in the season.
Here's the receptions, yards, and yards average through three games. one of these stands out.

Ihmir Smith-Marsette
11 194 17.6

Tyrone Tracy Jr.
5 79 15.8

Oliver Martin
4 24 6.0

Nico Ragaini
9 109 12.1

Brandon Smith
9 99 11.0

Right. See, this is what many have been bitching about forever...”why don’t we have good wide receivers who get separation, are fast, and can run after catch?” Those are pretty darn impressive stats. I guess we can now sit back and complain about who should get more reps. Good grief.

Exactly.

The people that complain Ferentz doesn't use the most talented players on his team because of seniority are now complaining that a player that is producing 1/2 as much as the 4th highest producing WR isn't getting enough playing time because .... he's from Iowa. ?
