brandon wegher

I predict teh return of Hampton this week, make ppl forget that weigher ever played for iowa.
I too think a healthy, hungry Jewell will be nice. However, all this talk of forgetting about Wegher is way out of line. The kid is fast, the kid has great hands, he is an excellent return guy. We miss Wegher and if we didn't need him Kirk wouldn't leave the door open and still be answering questions about him. He is a great player and we miss him!!!!!

How is life up there on your high horse?

you notice him on the punt block too?

the entire bar i was at for the game erupted with a wegher yell. i, however, was the only one that sat in my chair knowing full-well it wasn't him.

also had those guys that think they know everything about iowa football and iowa as a whole, but don't even get the fight song words right.

oh well, i had fun

Talking about Brandon being off the team is fine. Discussions or veiled references as to why, not fine. Don't do it here.

After the RB depth issues we've had in the recent past, you'd think more people would like Wegher around for depth. Last year at OSU we were living on a hamstring and a prayer.

Would they have to? He hasn't been with the team since before school started. Do you have to redshirt when you go on a mission?
He has to be redshirted to not lose a year of eligibiliy since his 5 year clock has started.
And smug stupidity of the "good ridance" BW people is astounding. He's a 19 yr old kid trying to figure out where he fits in life. Grow up.
You all act like he stole your girlfriend.
I miss the kid on the team now. He is an asset and a good kid from the times I've been around him.

I know, everyone's tired of the Wegher thread.

IMO, what will Iowa's offense miss the most with the loss of Wegher? SPEED. This is a pet peeve I've always had about Iowa's offense: when Iowa's offense has an opportunity for speed, the coaches don't know how to use it.. BTW KOK, please, no more end-arounds with McNutt or even DJK. Is Chaney Jr. still speedy?

I guess we'll see how fast Hampton is.
Go Hawks.

Has anyone thought they were just doing the end-arounds to set up a trick play for the future. Who says we don't reverse to Chaney, or have ex QB's DJK or McNutt pull up and throw a bomb?

Brandon is welcome at anytime in my book and apparently in the coaches book as well. Some of you need to rewatch the Orange Bowl...

Oh, thank you Jon for keeping things as clean around here as you do!

I did not mean any disrespect to wegher. I just meant that he is obviously not going to play this year, and iowa needs to move on without him. The return of Hampton will go a longs ways toward fans moving on without him. I am a wegher fan and hope that he choses to return to the Hawkeyes, when he is ready. As i have said in the past, he has proved he can play, and very enjoyable to watch on the field.
