Not really related, but the last JUCO recruit we were after that went to Hawaii didn't turn out so well (Anthony Salter). We can do better than Spearman.

Salter did commit to Hawaii and transfer out.

This is a blessing for Iowa basketball; I know a student that was at IHCC this season and believes that Spearman will have issues and possibly get booted from wherever he ends up due to either academic or legal reasons...not good and it is pretty bad that someone who has had quite a bit of interaction with this kid would think that way.

That was a difficult period of time, Salter had a very good visit to Iowa, and it appeared that he was going to commit. Then he paid a visit to the Rainbow Warriors.
That was it. CoCo was in the works and really wanted to come to Iowa. He was enthusiastic, but I believe Fran had his eye on Bryce who worked out very well. With the limited scholarships available the next two years, we might be able to do better than Spearman.
I get the impression that Jarrod wants to become a Hawk, and is waiting for Fran to decide.....
Could be wrong, but that is my impression.....
