BR has Iowa recruiting class 11th in B1G

iowa recruited lazard before the 'last few days'........

i guess i was more implying the plural instead of the singular in 'battles'.........

and i don't think the recruitment of lazard can be described as a 'battle'.

'those boys wasted a lot of time and money'.....knee slap, chortle, knee slap.....classic clown.
That last line was in reference to Notre Dame. At least I assume it was ND when he said "a school in northern Indiana". The part about making a hard push the last week before signing day was in reference to Iowa.

Outside sources probably assumed Iowa was going after Lazard but he made it clear for awhile he was going to Iowa State...
With that said is this accurate that we didn't get any higher than 268 with Scheel ?

From the highlight films on Scheel, I'd say he looks like a poor man's DJK. I never once saw him catch a pass, so he might have nice hands but he played in at the same position DJK did when we signed him and the highlight reels are similar, except in DJK's film, he was faster, and had better moves and played against tougher competition.

ESPN had the classes more accurately rated.:

OSU
Mich
PSU
Wis
NW
MSU
Neb
Iowa
Minny
IU
PU
Ill.

That places us 8th. But in the all-important West, we are right in the middle at 4th ahead of Minny,PU and Ill., behind NW, Neb, and Wis ....in other words...middle of the pack, competitive.

yes, i realize who he is referring to. iowa recruited him for a long time - not just the last week. they had him at a camp in june of 2012 and offered him at that time.

The recruiting class will look better when on of the diamond's in the rough turn into the next Bob Sander's.

I think it is ok to be bothered about our number 60 rated class. I know we will coach them up, but; We pay our coaches a lot of money and after a good year. I was expecting better. The coaches at ISU are not stupid. They have beat us about half the time with inferior recruiting classes. You could say they coach up their players better than us. Now they pull out a better class than us, after a bad year. I truly like our coaches, but sometimes things go stale and a change is good for everyone!

Why are all the Ferentz apologists bashing the Bleacher Report for just printing the obvious. Ferentz isn't trying to win anymore, and the recruiting class shows that.

Ranking recruiting classes is almost as silly as any type of team rankings before October. The story buried is which players made a step up during bowl game preparation. They'll likely see the field a lot sooner than a true frosh. Also

Also, I'm positive the coaches aren't trying to win. Makes perfect sense.

Why do fools post stupid stuff and read bleacherreport?

Life's mysteries....
