Bowling?

Espn bloggers posted their way too early bowl predictions. And Iowa is one of em. (We're back?)

NCAAF Big Ten bowl projections: Week 3 - ESPN

Granted, it's not the best of bowls...

Rose Bowl presented by VIZIO, Jan. 1: Ohio State
BCS at-large: Michigan
Capital One, Jan. 1: Wisconsin
Outback, Jan. 1: Northwestern
TaxSlayer.com Gator, Jan. 1: Michigan State
Buffalo Wild Wings, Dec. 28: Nebraska
Texas, Dec. 27: Minnesota
Heart of Dallas, Jan. 1: Illinois
Little Caesars Pizza, Dec. 26: Iowa

I will say I was surprised to see Illannoy and minnysoda ahead of us in the pecking order.

And I think we'll be better than the lil Caesars bowl.

No. Iowa won't be bowling, but if we get to 6 wins, we will get a better game than the goofers.

Those are some really, REALLY, stoopid names for bowls...... They need to be like the rose bowl, and say ____ bowl presented by___

Jury is still out. I think we get a win next week and go to 3-1. I think we are better than Minnesota. I think we win that one and if we do, we may beat MSU at our house. If we go to 5-1, I think we have a good shot at a decent, but not top level, bowl. To complete my totally inappropriate prediction, right after I say the jury is still out, I think we lose to OSU and MICH. I think we will beat MINN, MSU, and PUR. I think we will win at least 1 of the remaining three...NW, WI, NEBR...I am beginning to think we could be really competitive with all three of these teams. I have eaten enough crow in my lifetime that I have become at least tolerant of the taste.

I called in June that we'd be in the Buffalo Wild Wings bowl vs. Arizona State. I'm still good with that prediction.

Mind you, I don't believe that we'll finish #5 or #6 in the Big Ten, but rather if we're 7-5 (which I believe we will be), we'll jump any other 7-5 teams or 8-4 Northwestern, Minnesota, Indiana, Purdue, or Illinois for the coveted BW3 nod.

Would be a minor miracle for this team to even reach .500

Bowl game? Ridiculous.

I hope that was sarcasm. Have you seen the B1G so far this season. A lot of winnable games on the schedule. I don't know how many of them they will win, but they are out there. A minor miracle, is an enormous exaggeration. Again, I take it all back if you were kidding.

Absolutely not kidding. We beat an abysmal isu team by 6 and suddenly we are rolling through the B1G and headed for a bowl. That Kool-Aid is old. Dump it out.

I don't think they would have to roll through the B1G to win six games. If they lose to WMU, which they absolutely could, then it gets pretty tough. For the sake of argument let's assume they win that game. Then, all they need to do is, as you say, roll through the B1G with a 3-5 record. Truly a minor miracle if there ever was one...I still think you're not serious.

I think the optimism is coming from how we played for the first 3 1/2 quarters. If we can play like that for the whole game, we can take the winnable games (and possibly steal a game or two). Furthermore, as someone had mentioned already, the QB play has been a slight surprise thus far. Rudock is still a ways from where he needs to be, but it is definitely a surprise at this point.

I think your haterade is stale, broooooo. :)

We need to win the next 2 and show growth. Then we will have a better idea. Until then...talkie talkie means little for either "side".

DiNardo on the Big Ten Network Final Drive show just said that Iowa is one of the most improved teams in the Big Ten.

I do not think that 6 wins is out of the question, particularly if we defeat W. Michigan
