Bowl projections

I don't think Palm is taking into account fan interest in bowl games. Iowa has an advantage (at least in this sense...it's a HUGE disadvantage in other areas) insofar as their fans will travel in big numbers to any warm bowl game. MSU fans aren't that excited for a bowl, and Wisky isn't going to travel ANYONE to a bowl. That's why I'm thinking that MSU to the Quick Lane and Wisky to the Pinstripe is a good guess...a few MSU fans would make the day trip to Detroit, and you make the Pinstripe reps happy in a year where it won't move attendance that much.

Based on who has to go where because of bowl history, here's what I've got:

Pinstripe Bowl Virginia Purdue
Peach Bowl Michigan LSU
Redbox Bowl Minnesota Stanford
Holiday Bowl Iowa Utah
Gator Bowl Wisconsin Texas A&M
Outback Bowl Michigan State Mississippi State
Citrus Bowl Northwestern Kentucky
Fiesta Bowl UCF Penn State
Rose Bowl Ohio State Washington

Looks like a 1-8 or 2-7 slate this year

I hope those aren't the matchups. I only like Purdue, Iowa, Penn State and Ohio State in those matchups. Wisconsin and Michigan State would get absolutely rolled.

Wouldn't Northwestern vs Kentucky be a rematch of last year's Music City Bowl where Thorsen injured his knee?

I want to fight a small man a whip him.

I want the hawks to play someone they can beat. This team has not beat a good team all year...not sure that they can... somebody loses their marbles.... Nate, Brian, or the other team has a great QB.

Big Ten Bowl teams and where I think they are going

I don't see OSU getting to the playoff unless UGA falls far after the SEC champioinship and OU loses in the XII 'ship

OSU - Rose
Mich - Citrus
PSU - Outback
NW - Gator
Iowa - Holiday
Wisc - Pinstribe
Purdue - redbox
MSU - Qucklane (nice home game there for sparty)
Minn - who's left Military bowl or something?

I don't like the matchups for an 8-4 team for Iowa

Utah would be a great draw for Iowa. We can win that game.

I could honestly see the Big Ten losing every other game.

I had to look it up, but you're right. Peach is a NY6 game and I can see OSU in Rose and Michgan in the Peach.

Not too many of those games will be wins for the B1. I think Utah would beat Iowa. ...Hope I'm wrong. I think they're better than any team that Iowa played this year.

Utah is pretty strong I think. I’ve watched a couple of their late night games on ESPN. They are probably the most physical PAC-12 team aside from Washington. I think they have a good R/PO quarterback, and an attacking defense. Not sure I like this matchup.

There is still a chance Penn State is in play with a NY6 bowl. Which, if OSU gets the CFP bid, really makes B1G bowl slotting... “interesting”

Ok, I am following your logic if... PSU ends up in the Fiesta or Peach. I guess it depends on whether PSU ends up ranked higher than Wash. ST,

Then I could see NW slotted in the Citrus. Since Iowa has been to the Outback recently, it makes sense to send Iowa to the Holiday bowl. Now the Big Ten has a couple of 7-5 teams they could slot in the Outback Bowl. Either MSU or Wisc. MSU has not gone recently, so MSU to the Outback.

The only problem I see with this is I don't believe PSU is going to get the Fiesta bowl spot, or Peach bowl spot. We will have a better idea where PSU stands after the CFP rankings come out on Tuesday.
