Bowl game

Hopefully the team can refocus on the game and put the set backs aside. It's time for guys like Keenan to step up there game and show everyone that there ready to start.I just hope that we can show some intensity on both sides of the ball and play better than we have.It would be nice to get a win in the Bowl game and show everyone that we still have a team that can play with any one.

We have a team that can play with anyone GrandpaHawk! We can lose to Ohio State AND Minnesota by a fieldgoal! But I see what you're saying...it would definitely be nice to get a quality win heading into the off-season!

I would like to see them really shake up the depth charts. With the way this team finished the season, no spot should be sacred at this point. I'd like to see guys like Shumpert and Hitchens get some time on O and Kirksey on D.

There's a couple of problems with that, Blue...Kirk's not going to "shake up the depth charts" if he feels he has the depth charts set correctly already. He's also not going to sit senior starters in their last game, just to get "name a young guy at the same position" some snaps.

When we're up 4 TDs in the fourth he will.

I understand where you're coming from, but IMO, it wouldn't be just shaking up the depth charts for the sake of doing it, nor would it be just to get a young guy some snaps. He may not feel the depth charts are set correctly, given the on-field results. I'll use myself as an example.

My HS team was pretty good my sophomore year, won conference, but got blown out in our last regular season game because a lot of the seniors were looking past our opponent and getting ready for the playoffs. Their prep during the week sucked and there were rumors (unsubstantiated at the time) that some of them were popping pills before games. After the game, coach literally tore up the depth chart in front of us in the locker room. Said none of the starters played much like starters, so as far as he was concerned we were starting the season all over again. Monday at practice he held open tryouts for all positions. About half of the starters kept their jobs and about half didn't. We ended up having a bunch of guys change positions (I moved from 3rd string LT to starting FB) and won the game by 21. The seniors who didn't play kept their funky attitudes and never played again. We ended up losing in our 3rd game, but the playoff practices were way more energetic and effective than before.

I guess my point is that it seems obvious to a lot of us that the team kinda quit on the year and that some of the upperclassmen were taking plays off here and there. If I was KF, I'd tear up the depth chart after the Minnesota game and make everyone earn their playing time. If a senior gets beaten out by a RS freshman, too bad.
