Once he landed these two as he was getting Iowa out of the Lick cellar, it was a total failure by Fran to not recruit even better players at those positions over subsequent years. Instead he has brought in a bunch of backups and a whole lot of 2s, 3s and 4s, especially those last two positions.

That's right, called for Uthoff on a drive to the hoop, instead we throw the ball way out on the court and lose it. I'm not impressed with Fran's late game play calling. AT ALL!

Did anyone else notice the corner was wide open just like for Jok at the end of the Indiana game? It might have been the same exact play. Uthoff had 1/3 of the court wide open and he cut back inside towards all the traffic. It really looked like he did it on purpose so he wouldn't be open. As I saw it develope, I was just happy we got the right guy a wide open shot. Them he cut inside where a defender was standing the whole time, taking himself out of the play that almost certainly was designed specifically for him.

Having watched it I'm honestly confused as to what Iowa had drawn up. Wierd really and that's coaching!!!

I hate player bashing. But if I could give you 10 likes I would. Laughed out loud on that one.

But, if you can get a 2 who can play point and 4s that can play inside and out(think White/Uthoff/ December-January Uhl....(which I think is the plan)...you can be a matchup nightmare for most teams

That said, having one big body 4 or a true 5 for certain matchups would be nice.
