Bob Stoops in Hawkeye football facility today?

Per Hawkeye Heaven's Facebook page, there was an image of Bob Stoops supposedly strolling into the Hawkeye football facility today. A lot of idiots were commenting that they were hoping he was coming in for an interview to take over the head coaching gig. There are some realll stupid people out there.

Anyway, did anyone else see or hear about this? Just thought it was interesting.

Can you imagine Kurt trying to talk down to Stoops? Every Monday as Stoops sits there reading Kurt the emails that totally non-delusional fans like me send to the AD recapping every mistake on every play and then Kurt tries to defend himself only to be asked "where's your ring, son?" as Stoops extends the hand in an expectant manner hoping Kurt will actually kiss the ring. This scenario would be a dream come true.

He's after Brian when he takes over OSU when Urban suddenly resigns due to health issues and wanting to see his grand kids so he takes the easy Alabama job when Sabin gets fired because of the MSU mess because the head of medicine who was indicted this week implicated the football managers who were hosting football recruits who were interested in medical school. As a result, Izzo promptly resigned before Bill Self was implicated.

Bob Stoops is worth eight figures in his fifties. He has a wife who looks 20 years younger than she is, went out on top with two consecutive conference titles, and some of you think he'd com here and inherit this cow patty that Barta created? Let's not be dumb asses.

Bob is too young and energetic to slow down. I am 99% certain that he wants to stay close to sports but he doesn't want to settle as just a commentator or talking head on TV. I think he will end up as AD at Iowa, then probably governor. It's a good way to slow down from the rigors of coaching while staying close to the game. He brings something that has been sorely lacking in Iowa administrators - loyalty. So many of these admins have absolutely zero $hits to give about the University of Iowa and are just there hoping to move on to some more "elite" place like Michigan or Standford. Not Bob. Bob will be there as long as we will have him or until he gets elected governor.

Bob doesn't have love for Oklahoma. Their fans treated him poorly, the same way you jackals treated Lute and Alford. They claimed he choked too much in big games and he could never live up to their expectations, but in Iowa the guy will be the king and he'll be loyal. I want his ass in the chair in the AD's office and I want it now.
 
I've heard a rumor from an acquaintance who has reasonable credibility that Barta was not fired because he plans to leave on his own accord for a trustee seat on the Executive Governing Board for NDSU.

Kirk does indeed want Stoops to replace Barta as AD. This would be a play to secure the future transition for Brian.

I will note that the person who relayed this rumor to me does not put much belief into the rumor. It was only discussed because of its relevance to the Stoops sighting in IC. Apparently this rumor has been around for a few months.

Has anyone else heard this or any relative variation?

Kirk is Barta's boss at it is now. Why would he need Stoops in place to get Brian hired as head coach when he can influence Barta to do so anyway?

Stoops would be the fill in. To continue the strength of Kirk's influence.
