I've not posted once this season.

I've decided to say one final time before halftime of the Nebraska game. College football has long passed Ferentz by. There comes a time for all of us to let go of our profession. Ferentz reached that point several seasons ago.

1. He should retire while he still has some good will. His ego wants the record and that's selfish on his part.
2. Defense at best has been inconsistent this year. Against better offenses the Hawks don't tackle well and get manhandled often.
3. I've been a Hawk fan long before Ferentz came to Iowa, including the early 1980's when he was an assistant. Not a fan of Ferentz as a HC, but still an Iowa fan.
4. They are difficult to watch and have been for some time.

As a native Iowan who has lived away from Iowa for several years, I fortunately have many more choices of fun football to watch and do so without hesitation.

I trust Beth Goetz to bring in someone as the next head coach who'll take Iowa to another level.

I would never have trusted Barta to do so.

So, I guess here is a little bit of hope for the future after KF goes.
