Having now watched the replay of the 72 yard "pass" from Shaggy to Caleb Johnson multiple times, including in slow motion a number of times, it is my unprofessional opinion that was a lateral and as such a running play, rather than a pass. If somehow the game stats could be corrected, that would give Johnson another 100-yard rushing game, and perhaps more historically noteworthy, a running TD in all 12 games, which has never been done at Iowa before.
I don't know if anything can be done, but i have heard of significant stats being changed at the collegiate or pro level.
A great improbably win. We had a derisive loudmouthed Bugeater fan right next to us. But he left immediately after the strip sack. It was very disappointing not to get to "congratulate" him on his team adding yet another amazing flop finish, where they added to their putrid record of losing close games and truly "grabbing defeat out of the jaws of victory".
