game tied at 17 with 3 minutes to go....
I never really felt that NDSU was going to lose that game. They did almost gift wrapped a win for CHSO with that pick toward the end of the game, but that was the only shot they had.
I wasn't really impressed with NDSU, and I think that the problem they are going to have with Iowa is they like to play like Iowa. They want to line it up and punish you, and that isn't going to work against Iowa's front 7. I was more worried about Ill. St. last year, as they ran a spread that gives Iowa much more problems than when they face a downhill running team.

This is the team that's going to beat us? Really? That's cute. Right along with their cute little dome. I watched. I was not impressed. I've been lurking on their board for a while now, biting my tongue, just listening to their shitt, not saying a word. pretty arrogant for what I saw Saturday night against southern Charlestown state of the south. 3-3 at half, overtime win, at home.
Nothing offensively is very intimidating at all. o-line has good size I guess, but nothing we don't already see every weekend, nothing that Jaleel, faith, and bazata don't see regurarly. receivers look very average or below average, I like our db coverage on them a lot, Des and mabin will do just fine here. backs look ok i guess, they have a nebtard transfer with a cute name but the big is full of backs that he'd back up. qb is a decent runner, ok at best passer, prob not a kid that is consistent enough yet to beat us for a full game. nothing offensively I saw that is going to come into kinnick against our D and do enough damage to beat us. I like our D all day against these guys. Charleston D wasn't too bad, but bison fans are in for a rude awakening comparing that D to ours. That D has no des King, Josey Jewell, or Jaleel.
Southern Charlestown state u of the south was horrid offensively, to me at least.Their wishbone offense looked like a car wreck. Qb was not good. Although our offense has its up and downs, I don't think there's much comparison to Charleston and our offense. CJB, Kittle, meercat, Daniels, I didn't see that on the field for charleston. We should be able run pretty well against them and then really pick them apart after the run has opened up. Again, compare Charleston's offense to ours....
I don't know, I was expecting much more based on their forum discussion. They are going to take over kinnick, we will never have seen anything like their winning pedigree and how strong they are, how well they play as a team, yanda yanda yanda. Their fan base may be in for a rude awakening because I didn't see a team that will beat us. In fact, I feel much much better after watching them. I think we could pick out score against charleston, similar to what we did against Illinois state last year. I'm sure ndsu will improve and play a better game at kinnick, but for all the shitt their fan base is taking, they have some work to do. Bring it
Yeah I agree with you Dean. This doesn't necessarily mean anything, but Illinois State beat that Charleston Southern team pretty handily last year in the FCS playoffs. The same Illinois State team that Iowa handled last year.
My biggest takeaway from watching NDSU Saturday night was that I was unimpressed with their line. They dominated in the trenches last year. Just simply pushed people around. They had their way with Iowa State. Plus Wentz was a better runner and more accurate passer than Stick is. I believe they also lost their best RB from a year ago, however, this King Frazier guy did play quite a bit.
I think your breakdown is spot on. They won't be able to run against Iowa's front seven. Stick will be forced to pass and he isn't accurate enough to lead them to a win through the air without having a rushing attack to keep the defense off balance. I do expect NDSU to keep getting better though. They have a good coaching staff and that seems to be the way they operate. They keep improving each week and end up being damn good at the end of the season.
I believe that is correct but they also lost NFL linebacker to a shoulder injury. Well that's what the bizon called him anyway. That arrogant fan base got a rude awakening. 5 straight championships in fcs and they think they are Alabama. They really think they will win the championship for the next decade. Nothing says the coach will stay their for that long. Check out Bisonville for a sneak peak at what will be sitting next to you at Kinnick. What a special treat you all are in for.I think I did hear that a starter was missing the first 2 games for academic suspension, so I believe that would put him back by the Iowa game.
If their center is going to OWN Jaleel why isn't he playing on sunday instead of Saturday? Hope someone posts that on Jaleel's locker! This will be fun!Just read on their forum that, their center who was out for their first game on Saturday, when he returns, will, I quote,"own" Jaleel. Their center will own Jaleel. I see Jaleel playing in the pros for quite some time. Their center must be really good. Will be interesting to see. Keep talking ndsu, keep talking. If I was a FeCeS school that had to go into OT to beat that team on saturday night, at home, last thing I'd be dong is calling out Jaleel Johnson. Shaking head...
