Win on Saturday and we get the #7 seed. Lose and we play in the 8/9 game. Simple as that, no other options.

I would like the #7 seed because it's at a better time, 4:30pm. We would avoid the #1 seed (probably Michigan State) in round 2. And we would get Minnesota who we have beaten twice and is reeling.

The 8/9 game would have us against Illinois, but maybe NW. If Illinois wins out, I'm not sure if they or NW would get the #7 seed.

Edit: NW would get the #7 seed. So 8/9 would be Illinois.

We absolutely want the #7 seed, no question about. Minny is a much better matchup for a win and then we avoid MSU which is quite helpful.
Gotta win on Sat though. Should be a good and fun game.

7 seed is the ticket.

Get Minny first (presumably).
Then either OSU or UM. Prefer UM. So Iowa fans want to root for Mich the rest of the way so they get the 2 spot.

4:30 on Thurs is the 7/10

Then the 7/2 is at 5:30 if Iowa wins.

Good times all around.

Who does Mich have next?

Kind of a weird situation brewing for these seedings. If I am looking at this right if Iowa was to beat NW for the 7 seed and Nebraska was to win at Minnesota. Because of Nebraska's win at Iowa I think they would get the 10 seed.

A. Two-team tie:
1. Results of head-to-head competition during the regular-season.
2. Each team's record vs. the team occupying the highest position in the final regular-season standings (or in the case of a tie for the championship, the next highest position in the regular-season standings), continuing down through the standings until one team gains an advantage.
a. When arriving at another pair of tied teams while comparing records, use each team's record against the collective tied teams as a group (prior to their own tie-breaking procedures), rather than the performance against the individual tied teams.
b. When comparing records against a single team or a group of teams, the higher winning percentage shall prevail, even if the number of games played against the team or group are unequal (i.e., 2-0 is better than 3-1, but 2-0 is not better than 1-0).
3. Won-loss percentage of all Division I opponents.
4. Coin toss conducted by the Commissioner or designee.

It would be Nebraska because they were 1-0 vs Indiana and Minnesota was 1-1.

Not if Penn State also wins vs. Michigan. Then in a 3 way tiebreaker Minny wins that due to better record among collective tied teams and gets the #10 seed. But if Penn State loses, then in your scenario, I think you are right, Nebraska might sneak in and get the #10 seed.

So keep that in mind... if Iowa beats NW and Nebby can win on the road in The Barn, we get a rematch of tonight.

Otherwise if Iowa loses, it's the 8 seed and probably Illinois.

Good point. PSU ain't winning though. :)

And I don't think Nebraska is winning at Minny. But hey, we're just covering all the scenarios. :)

I would put it at 95% that we face either Minnesota in the 7/10 game or Illinois in the 8/9 game. 5% chance we play some other team.

You are right Tecmo, playing on the road has been tricky for everyone. Either way I think a Minnesota loss to Nebraska helps Iowa. I am not a big fan of having to play Minnesota a 3rd time. If Iowa beats Northwestern to burst their bubble and then losses to Minnesota you just potentially put 2 teams into the NIT that may take a bid away from Iowa.
